never rent from the carmel house apartments if your looking to live in walnut creek. the complex is old and run down and has really had not too much remodeling since they were built in the 60's. if anything needs to get fixed good luck getting the apartment or property manager to fix it. i don't want to give out the managers name but i will say he's rude and horrible with women and shouldn't be running any type of complex. sure it's in a fantastic location just walking distance to downtown but it's so not worth it. i had many issues with mold and water damage and the only option i was given was to stay somewhere else so they could just paint over it. what really drove me nuts was how many times i wasn't able to get to the door or was in bed and was shocked to see him in my apartment or opening the door to my room waking me up. oh i almost forgot the parking issue! you were given one spot in covered parking then for the other roommate or guest good luck because the street is 2 hour parking. don't even get me started on how many parking tickets i had.

there are many great people living there but these days most people don't have better options. i beg you if your looking for something new just keep on driving by and don't bother stopping.

I have no idea what this person speaks of. I have lived here for over a year, true it's not as long as her but it's still a year. Parking Ok it sucks, but everything else is top notch. When something is broke I ask if they can fix it and within two days it's good. The manager is a female and has gone out of her way to help whatever the problem is and she know's most by first and last name. It does cost some money but it keeps the people from Concord out.

In all fairness to Carmel House, this review is long outdated. The current property managers are in fact respectful and extremely likable. The complex overall is not horrendous, but nothing special either other than providing convenient access to downtown Walnut Creek, if that's your bag.
