Just moved in.

I just moved in and so far I love it. Obviously the other people who wrote reviews haven't lived in Oakland or other heavily populated cities. I think it is super quiet and there is tons of parking for guests. It is true that there are only a few guest parking spots, but if those are taken, there is a street about 50 feet from any given apartment where there is plenty of parking. I have someone who stays with me every night and he has never had a problem. The grounds are beautiful with lots of plants, trees, and flowers. The golf course view apartments all have a gorgeous view, but even the standard apartments seem to have a decent and tranquil view. I live in a downstairs apartment and our patio is really large, you could fit your BBQ, table and chairs, etc. back there. The inside of the apartment is your standard cookie cutter apartment layout, except that on the bigger one bedrooms your vanity with sink and mirror is outside the bathroom. I like that because if you have two people in the apartment, one can use the restroom and the other can use the vanity with more privacy. They also allow you to paint the walls if you want, provided you paint them back if you move. There is plenty of laundry and the machines work on this system in which you pay money onto your card with a credit card. I can't tell you how handy that is. I did laundry at 10:00 am last Sunday and I was the only one in a room full of about 20 machines! The one complaint I do have is that you have to walk pretty far to the trash dumpster depending on where your apartment is. Iron Horse trail and Heather Farms are within walking distance, I'd say 3/4 a mile to either, so if you like to bike or run, this is a perfect location. Safeway, Albertson's, Long's, and Rite Aid are within 1-2 miles. Downtown Walnut Creek and all the great shopping is less than 5 miles. One thing that is weird is that you have to have renter's insurance here in order to rent ($18/month), and you pay for your own water and garbage ($35-50/month). I really think that you are spending more if you live at Stoneridge than you would at other places in Walnut Creek, however, having looked at many apartments before deciding, what you are really paying for is a tranquil, beautiful setting. If you are a person who is willing to spend an extra $100.00 bucks for a great view and not to hear cars go buy or have to look at a gas station across the street, then this really is a great place. Not having lived here that long, I can't comment much on the staff.
