I will say that the ladies in the management are great. The area is very nice, the rooms are very clean and functional. BUT I did have a few problems:
First of all, we had problems with the dishwasher which was overflowing. They cleaned it out and "fixed" it but it did the same thing. It's not their fault but since our 6 month lease was up and we resigned for another lease, they upgraded and we no longer had problems.
Second of all, when I first moved in, I flushed the toilet, walked away, and when I came back my bathroom was flooded and leaked downstairs to the guys' place below me... That was cleaned up and fixed right away...(Good thing it was just water!)
Third, PARKING IS MISERABLE. If you have more than ONE car, do not even THINK about moving here. My roommate and I had two cars (Scion xB and a Honda Civic) and they are not big cars... We both had remotes for the garage so when I came home I parked outside, then he would park inside or vice versa. But if I wanted to go leave to grab a bite to eat, my parking spot would be taken immediately, and when I come back, I'd have to wait outside for 30 minutes driving around the parking lot because there is absolutely no parking.
And watch out when your friends come over, not only does it make parking even WORSE, if they forget to put a "VISITING" note on their dash, they will be towed in a jiffy with a $230 bail on their car. The security guard is a nice guy and even helped us out with parking but he will tow any car possible so watch out.
Besides that, everyone is pretty respectful with noise, even though I was on an end unit. My neighbor played loud music but it wasn't ridiculous, it ended promptly by 10pm though. Street noise is minimal if the windows are closed tight. And the community is kept clean and tidy, people around here are fairly nice (I guess'). The place is close to downtown Walnut Creek if you spend alot of time here, but I find Walnut Creek fairly boring. It's a super safe and comfortable place to live, but all of the real culture and activities are in Berkeley, SF etc...
Oh yeah commuting from Walnut Creek to Emeryville at 7am-8am may take up to an hour. Coming back around 12pm or 3pm is just about as bad.
This place is great if you take BART/ride a bike, want a safe place to live. The 2 bedrooms are great split but the 1 bedroom prices are quite up there... mgFDbN4-dhkSMZ7zRmVH
