Overall I have had a great experience at Ivy Hill. I think that usually there isn't too much to complain about until something really goes wrong, then you see how management deals with things. Unfortunately about a month ago there was a leak in the pipe that ran through my wall and my next door neighbor s wall and my carpet and wall ended up getting completely soaked and mildew started growing on the wall and under the carpet. I was a little surprised because the building is only a few years old and other than that the construction seemed to be pretty sound. It was just one of those things that happens but it wasn't anyone's fault. However, when dealing with management they were great about the whole thing. I ended up having to move into a temporary apartment while my apartment was being fixed. Don't get me wrong it was a major inconvenience, but what can you really do in situations like that. They helped me move my stuff both into the temporary apartment and back out. I really felt as though most of the management really did feel for me and did all they could to help out. They also reimbursed me for all the damage and the inconvenience.

Other than that everything else has been great about the apartment. In reference to a couple of previous reviews I think the noise level is mixed. In my normal apartment I never hear a peep out of anyone. My apartment faces a beautiful park and oak tree so it's a wonderful view. However, while I was in my temporary apartment that faced the street and downtown there was a lot more noise from neighbors. One night around 11pm on Friday my friend and I were walking back to my apartment and one of the apartments sounded like it was a night club. My friend even asked, "There isn't a night club in here is there'" We knocked on the door and asked what the cover charge was and thought it was really funny, however the people in the apartment didn't seem to have the same sense of humor. But they did turn down their music.

In regards to the comment about the break in, I asked about that in the front office and their story was that the people who had been broken into had left their window wide open and just happened to have their car broken into the same day. Really, what are the chances of just one apartment being broken into and just one car being broken into on the exact same day that just happened to belong to the same person' The whole thing sounded a little fishy, and other than that I haven't heard of any other problems.

I never have a problem with parking, and always feel very safe in this complex. The grounds are very clean and the location is great. In every apartment complex there are going to be some problems but I hope to stay in this apartment for at least a couple more years.
