Lived at Ivy Hill for 8 months and was very impressed with everything they had to offer. The leasing staff was top notch and did everything they could to accommodate me. Gated/assigned parking, w/d in unit, very thick walls (no neighbor sound), short walk to several bars and restaurants. A from me.

I'm sorry - some of this review is correct (the obvious: washer/dryer in unit and easy walk to a lot - nice location for Walnut Creek - absolutely . . . and that's how they justify the egregious rents; and add central A/C and heat to that list - all good). You can't take those things for granted in Walnut Creek, amazingly, especially if you want to be in or close to downtown. However - the other points this reviewer made are patently ridiculous and people considering moving here should know that. The amenities are pathetic; and that's OK - but it is what it is. There is a tiny pool with virtually no room to sit or hang out around it, and it rarely gets much light during the day because of its location in the courtyard. There is a tiny jacuzzi next to that. And there is a tiny, pathetic "fitness center". Again, that's OK! Join a gym. (There is a great one about 1/4 mile away downtown). But don't call that "amazing." That's not even arguable. But ask to see these amazing amenities on your tour and judge for yourself. Also - saying there is no noise between the apartments is also patently false. The insulation between units top to bottom and side to side is terrible. You can hear everything your neighbors do. Maybe the reviewer had really, really quiet neighbors, coincidentally. But I hear mine all the time. Again, that's OK - it's an apartment, not a gated estate in the French Alps, but don't say there's no noise. And speaking of noise, if you live along the street, it's noise ALL the time from the street, the highway, multiple commercial trucks that come out early in the morning before subrise even, the occasional idling 18-wheeler on the street or parking lot across the street . . . Oh and google "Red House" and come by sometime Friday or Saturday night - it's a teen Goth nirvana. Still overall a very solid choice for Walnut Creek and a good complex overall. Leasing staff is great - that's true. Way better staff than any of the other local places - way better.
