Took a tour; had been told by phone that the 2 bedrooms are 1000 sq.ft. but when I got there knew could not be so. Checked on-line for apartment building listings and it said that the Oakmont's 2 BRs are 850 sq.ft. - which seemed more realistic.

Closet doors off the tracks, yucky brown carpet, wall heater and small wall A/C. Small laundry room for so many units - others in area have twice as many per units and are newer with swipe cards (now that's customer service!)

Sensed manager was making a strong effort to show a good side. She would not let me take the rental agreement with me to read it over, and would not show me the "house rules" unless I gave a deposit.

So, no go for me: Can't allow myself to be treated like a child these days, particularly when rents are already at least 20% overpriced. Think the manager may be a little too "old school" for a working professional to deal with.
