Clean, Well-Lit, SAFE

I lived here during my Senior Year of college. When I arrived the apartment had been freshly painted and the carpets perfectly cleaned.
As a female living alone, I was most interested in safety. The hallways in front of my apartment and the garage are both extremely well lit. Because I was a very involved student, I would return from studies and programming late at night (10ish usually) and I never felt unsafe traveling from my car to my 4th floor apartment.
As for noise, I lived here during the time that they did a massive parking lot resurfacing. During this time, there was a bit of noise but mostly confusion because of traffic flow and the fact that they closed various garages (therefore I couldn't get to my assigned spot). However, the management did notify residents when their garage would be closed (and it was only for one 24 hour period anyway). Speaking of parking, it is the only bad thing I truly have to say. The parking here is VERY difficult. Sure, I had an assigned parking space, but I only had one guest parking pass and I swear there are only like 10 spaces that guests can park in on the premises. If you have lots of guests visiting you frequently, then this is not the place for you. (Oh and forget about the 2nd spot waiting list, you won't get a second spot unless you have a second bedroom).
Other nice things about this apartment complex is they have a fitness center (that no one is ever in, but it is nice so I have no idea why!). BART Pleasant Hill Station is right accross the street, which makes traveling to San Francisco and Oakland Airports a snap.
As for the management, they are always pleasant, if a little stiff. They won't give you warm feelings inside, but they are professional and helpful.
Lastly, cost--everything in the Bay Area is expensive, but this place comes with a relatively high cost. Depending on your standards, you can find a comparable place for less in Walnut Creek or the surrounding areas.
Overall, I am very glad that I chose this place and I would do it again. If possible, ask them if they have a room for you where the bedroom window doesn't face out into the hall. A lot of them do, but some (like mine) face outside the complex.
P.S.-If you wash at least two loads a week, spring the extra $40 (that's what it was a year ago, it's probably gone up) to rent a washer/dryer. Unless, you live next to the Laundry Room in your Building, you probably won't get in there. Sharing 3 dryers and 3 washers with 80 units is a little bit of a nightmare. Luckily I had enough clothes to last almost a month and would take everything in lump to the laundromat. SEk1KnECheF1ATXbXtrZ
