Park Regency is great, from my view

Ok, so I'm posting a good review about the community I live in right now... so don't attack me because I am not a staff member, rather a very happy customer.

I'm not sure why Park Regency is getting such bad reviews. I think it is a great place and I refer all my friends to come live here with me, and the management office rewards me by paying me $200 everytime someone I refer moves in. So yes, they are paying me in a sense, but not paying me to write this review! There are also others in the complex that do the same... it's great because I can choose my neighbors AND get paid for it.

So, on to my review...

I've lived here for 3 years now (wow, going on 4), and I absolutely love it. The community grounds are always kept up well, so you can tell that the maintenance manager (I know him -- he's my neighbor and he's quite nice) really cares about the way it looks here. Sometimes it can take what seems like forever to get a maintenance request done, but in hindsight, doesn't it take long for EVERYTHING when something needs to be fixed' I think it's taken as long as 3 days to get something done, but most of my requests are done the next day. The one thing that took 3 days to do was my window not closing completely, so that was no biggie. The important ones get done the same day or the next day. I am very satisfied with the maintenance at this complex as compared to other complexes. They do a lot of projects which can sometimes make a lot of noise, but I figure that if I want to live in a beautiful place, there ought to be some kind of upkeep. They do a fantastic job.

The management office is not really that bad. I was late on my rent twice; the first time was an unavoidable situation and I asked to get my late charge waived, but they said a firm "no". I was furious when I left the office, but later apologized to the man for my rude behavior, which is not in my character. I didn't even try to ask the second time I was late.

The leasing office (yes, they have two separate offices) is filled with great people. They are always smiling and have great personalities. Others feel the same as well: when I went to drop them a Christmas gift last week, I was not surprised that others were bringing by bottles of wine for the staff. They really make a difference in my stay here. My building manager, Benny, keeps me very happy. My rent stays low (but low is relative... in the Bay Area, EVERYTHING is expensive), and he offers to paint an accent wall for me or shampoo my carpets for free everytime I tell him I want to stay another year, so that's good. They increased my rent last year, but it was only by $20.

There are some lower-income people living here, but that's fine. The vast majority of this thousand-apartment community are regular income earners. Most of the secion 8 people I know (there are 4 that I know of) are actually regular people! You'll be amazed at how normal they seem! They speak regular English, wear shoes, eat off of plates with utensils, and drive cars! Ok, so that's me being facetious. But really, they are as normal as you can get. Wow, it's amazing how prejudiced people really are. You tell yourself that you're not prejudicial, but then you turn around and privately write such bad things about certain groups of people on the internet. Shame, shame, shame.

The cons about living here:

Finding extra parking can be a pain at times. I live in a 1 bedroom apartment, so I get 1 reserved space in the parking garage, but I have 2 cars. I usually try to use the car with the reserved space more than the car that I have to park outside, but when I do use my second car, my parking space won't be there when I come back. I imagine that this makes it hard for visitors to park too. I tell my visitors to park outside the gates in the parking area out front and it isn't a problem most of the time. Sometimes I tell them they can park at the BART's parking garage across the street, but I don't know how "legal" that is. It's a public, free parking garage, so I'll continue to do so until I'm told otherwise.

Noise from the pressure washing in the building and the groundskeepers. The maintenance use air compressors for the washing, which can get noisy, especially if you want to sleep in. But I also see it as a "give-and-take" situation. I put up with the noise, and they keep complex clean. Maybe it's just me, but I'm the type of person to look for the bright side of things.

It's a shame that so many people bash Park Regency on this website. I have been very, very happy living here the last 3 years. I'm going to tell my friends to post their own opinions on this website, because they are very happy here too. This great place gets such a bad rating because the happy ones stay quiet and the ones that are upset about their rent being late and being charged a late fee (me, once upon a time) are obscenely and obnoxiously loud, especially on this website.

And no, I don't work for them, and they are not paying me to write this.

Haters, bring it on.

Just wow - It looks like the management is posting their own reviews again and having a -_-_sickle comment positively one them. As someone who lived at PR and found this site (too late as I had already moved in) to review them I can say that I would *NOT* recommend Park Regency to my worst enemy and not even my in-laws. Perhaps I would recommend it to foreign consulate members of countries I deride, but that is about it.

Wow. The only way to attack me is call me an employee. For the fifth time, I do not work at Park Regency.

There was a comment here from fudgesickles that was calling to arms for all residents to leave good reviews and bring up the rating for this place. It also appeared almost instantly after the review was posted. Now it's removed. I guess even the brain-dead management of this hell hole realized that it was just too obvious. I mean these guys not only post here, they are not even that smart about it. This place is lucky to have 25% rating, realistically it should be 0%.
