Request Necessary Repairs, Get Evicted!

We've had an HVAC that hasn't worked upstairs since we moved in, both toilets leak, the downstairs flooded in January 2008, the whole back wall of the fireplace moves when you touch it, the refrigerator hums and knocks, the dishwasher doesn't wash or dry completely, the neighbors deal and use drugs, the washers and dryers (8 washers, 3 dryers for 70 units) are constantly broken, our car is constantly vandalized and drug-dealers threaten us, a burglar broke into a neighbor's unit because the sliders can't be secured, the mail constantly "goes missing," the water smells and tastes funny, the "on-site manager" is never in the office and doesn't return calls, the children are unsupervised brats, the property management company breaks every law known to God and man...and when we asked for repairs we were evicted! No maintenance is done to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, hot water heaters, roof, appliances, fireplaces/chimneys, etc. - everything finally just stops working because they won't maintain anything! Someone needs to explain the implied warranty of habitability and state housing laws to these criminals!

This review was written by neurotic residents that were Evicted. They did not pay rent and and tried to play the "habitability" game through the courts.
They did the exact same thing with their previous landlord and were evicted there too (evictions are sealed for 60 days so that a new landlord has no way to tell an individual was evicted until it's to late).
All the other residents in the community was harassed by these individuals and were very thankful management took action.
The residents and management all feel very sorry for the next landlord and community they plan to harass.

Don't believe the management here! We were only evicted because we requested repairs which they refused to perform, and the judge is known for being a landlord-favoring idiot who is too lazy to do his job and enforce tenants' rights. Renters are entitled to plumbing that doesn't leak, heaters must work, anything installed when you move in must work and be safe, there should be no insect or rodent infestation, your landlord must protect you from drug-dealers and neighbors who threaten you, etc. Look at CA Civil Code 1941 and KNOW YOUR RIGHTS!
We were not evicted from our previous apartment - we won the case and signed a settlement to live there rent-free until we moved the next month. The only neighbors complaining about us are the ones we had to call the police about for dealing drugs and threatening us with physical violence.
If you like living in a slum where nothing works, there's easy access to drugs from your neighbors, and enjoy being threatened by your neighbors every time you walk out your front door...this is the place for you! If you like appliances that work, a home that doesn't flood, law-abiding neighbors and management, and getting what your hard-earned dollars are paying for...well, keep looking because you won't get it from this slum lord who perjures himself in court to evict people who simply ask that their rights are respected!
