Beautiful Grounds - Apartment was mediocre

Years at this apartment: 2000 - 2001
I lived at Whispering Oaks for one year until late 2001. What attracted me was the beautiful grounds with streams throughout and pretty trees. It was a lovely environment. Unfortunately, my apartment was not impressive. I had an executive studio for $1000 per month - pretty good for the Bay area at that time. It was about 800 square feet - basically all one big room with a fireplace in the middle. I believe I paid all my utilities. I liked the dry sauna room I had in my bathroom and used it alot (these were only offered with the executive studios.) I moved when the price increased to $1400 for my apartment when my lease expired! That was a huge and, I think, unfair jump in price. The management staff was average. I did appreciate that they allowed me to rent even though my credit was less than great. I always paid my rent on time, so they didn't hassle me. I had a few noisy neighbors and had to call the cops on a regular basis, and parking was horrible! No one (even my boyfriend) liked to come and visit me because there was absolutely NO PARKING!! It became really lonely living there because no one could come over. The decor of the apartment was not very nice (grey and black tones and nothing at all special) but the fireplace was wood-burning and I enjoyed it. So, all in all it had pros and cons.
