Three years of dark hell in SHOUTING FOUNTAINS

Years at this apartment: 1999 - 2002

Friends,

I am embarrassed to say that I lived at Whispering Oaks (Shouting Fountains) from 1999 to 2002... 3 very long years. I moved to the bay area from So. CA for a job and did a net search. I wish i would have found this site then. When i moved there, i was taken in by what i thought would be a serene environment. DEAD WRONG! I?d rather live near an airport! I rented a 2BDR, 2 BTH on the 3rd floor of 1391, right across from the stanky ass elevator. As I have read many of the postings (and laughed out loud because they are so true), I must concur about:

1. The hallways: Even though I was at the end of the hallway, it was still scary as hell. And smelled like a dirty hen house. The carpet was so stained that I was afraid to put my groceries down on the floor to open the door.

2. The elevator: Thankfully I never got stuck in it, but the thing was broken like every other month!

3. Parking: THAT SUCKS ASS. Who would rent a 2 bedroom with a roommate and only have one car' C?mon! And, this is really peculiar... there is this red car that had been parked in the space next to mine and was not moved once! I was so amazed that nobody tried to steal it, as there were thefts all the time.

4. Crime: One police officer called the area "Meth hill". Great.

5. Fire Alarms: FOREVER going off! What is the deal'

6. Pool: Can you say staph infection'

7. The Refuse Room/Trash shoot: Were people stuffing bodies in there' It smelled like rotting corpses! And why do people think they can throw away couches and other furniture' People move out and leave their stuff behind. Maybe they should call the hoodlems before hand and arrange a trade.

8. The carpet: This is so gross. I lived there for 3 years with 2 cats and I KNOW they didn?t change the carpet when I moved!

9. The master bathroom: I was ------- growing mushrooms (no, not the good kind) and other fungi!

10. I could hear people fighting, shitting, having sex, etc. Lovely.

11. The fixtures are cheap. Spending 5 hours to clean the bathroom and still having look like a motel 6 bathroom is depressing.

It was a dark existance and you can very easily become a hermit there. Oh, and do they help ya out when you want to move with their equity resident program' Ha, ha. Think again. Even in this economy!
