DO NOT RENT HERE
The management changes every year, the office staff are all under 23 and not educated. Shannon and Connie are the worst. They make mistakes but do not apoliaize for them.
White pool furniture was replaced with black so you get burned when you sit on it.
Management breaks into you apartment claiming some apartment has a leak and they are looking for it. They roll up the rent due notices every month with all your private information on it and put it on your front door. If it is not picked up right away as it is placed so it falls to the floor when you open the front door, people walking down the hall know that no one is home. This accounts for all the break ins and theft. I had to leave for several weeks and junk just piled up on my front door. I came home to pizza coupons, the rent statement with my full name and private information for anyone to look at and a phone book in front of the door. It is advertising that I am not home and this is a good apartment to rob.
The managers have nothing better to do than to gossip about renters. I have had notes put on my door claiming that I did not have renters insurance 5 times when it was in my file in the office the entire time. The girls in the office are too stupid to look.
Two fires have started in the trash downstairs and smoke filled the apartments and the fire department was never called. Then the front office lies about this.
The rent goes up hundreds of dollars when the year lease is up. Even if they are renting a similar apartment to someone new for less,
The trees were dangerous and had many broken limbs this winter. They waited until summer to strip the trees so they do not provide shade anymore. Some look like tooth picks.
It is a locked building, but they leave doors open all the time. The interior doors on the first level have been broken into many times. The cars in the secure parking under the building just seems to provide people privacy to break into your car.
The place is on a street of apartments and you cannot have guests over as they have no where to park.
They treat you nice to rent out the apartment then once your year lease is up they want hundreds of dollors over what a new renter would pay. They do not reward people who pay on time and are good renters, that is why they have such a turnover and people who are not as good. Notices of defult are taped to doors for everyone walking by to see with private information on it.
It is good that they take pets, but some people do not teach their dogs to not bark and others leave these pets alone for nights at a time and of course they will bark. It is not bad dogs, it is bad owners.
They used bait and switch to rent the apartment saying it had a dishwasher, when I had the moving truck here they said that the girl that rented the apartment has only worked for the company for a few weeks and did not know what she was doing. They did not offer restitution.
Long time residents have seen all the abuses over the years and say that it is how this company works.
The elevators are very old and seldom work. I spoke with a repairman and he said that they needed to be replaced years ago. The management will not do this. They break down often and one elevator sticks on the bottom floor. When someone writes on the door fix this elevator, it has been broken for 6 years, they do not fix it. They have maintaince paint over the comment. The one elevator had over 50 layers of paint on it.
The building must be 40 years old. Do not let the street view of water and nice paint and new plants fool you. What's inside is shotty.

THis letter is on the doors:
Increases of more than 25% have been added to our utilities bill; charges for Water Boiler, Sewer Wervice, and Service fees which are part of the high rent we pay monthly.
Basically, we are charged 50 cents a day for showers and 50 cents a day for using the toilets. How about the water needed for the water fountains and washing pay washingmachines. WHO PAYS FOR IT? We do!!!
Equity Residential is passing its energy and utilities bills to its tenants without discussions, permissions, and written communication. This is illegal and liable for a legal investigation.
We cannot sit quiet and let these actions pass, we need to PROTEST in the following way.
1. Write a Grevance letter and e-mail it to residentrelations@egrworld.com
2. Do not pay the utilitits bill this month. This will constitute the loudest form of protest and will lead to a change.
3. Join the WO Tenant Association and the fight. To learn more about the Association, send an e-mail to equitybillfraud@gmail.com
THis is a serious matter. If we all unite and at as suggested abuve, Equity Residential will change its ways.

Office staff is the worst I have ever encountered. I complained twice that someone had illegally parked in my space, Sheylah said she would have them towed. Six hours later, they were still there. I called the towing company. They said they never got the call. Meantime I had to park two blocks away on the street because it was the closest I could find. Equity seems to send their dumbest people here, and when one leaves, somebody even worse takes their place. Too bad, because the maintenance people really try hard, but get a lot of flack because of the incompetant office airheads.

This place is a really bad place to rent. The management is useless. Mold grows on all the windows in our bathroom and bedrooms and they do nothing to fix the problem. Their anwser for us is to open the windows and let the rooms air out and to paint over the mold on the windows instead of really fixing the issue. They charged cleaning fees to us without discussing with us our options. We moved from a one bedroom to a two bedroom and they refused to credit us for the early termation fees to our old apartment even though we continue to rent from them. Hall ways always smell like garbage due to the garbage dumps being inside the building. We have two more month on our lease. Thank God we will be out of here after that. Never will I recomend anyone to rent here because of the staff and lack of care and concern that they show us.
