I was walking to meet my friend at these apartments and I was mugged. I had to park on South Main and walk down the street due to the fact that there is no parking on Creekside Dr. The area is not well lit. You think its Walnut Creek, but instead you get Oakland. Shady people roam around this place at night. The cops patrol the street 10 times a night. If it was safe they most likely wouldn't have to do that. And as I was leaving a cop car pulled up to handle a different case in these apartments. I would not recommend anyone moving to this ---- hole.

it is frightening. Dangerous people live here because of shannon. walk in the halls and smell pot being smoked. notices that people owe lots of money to apartment complex and pge. Stuff stolen from laundry. over 25 vac. apts. danger, danger, danger

I don't know Shannon, but Sheyla is worse. You tell her something that needs to be done, she says she'll do it, then she immediately forgets about it. I have heard this same story from other unhappy tenants.

There are about 10 muggings a year in Walnut Creek. It could happen anywhere. Just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. There are a lot of college students since DVC and St. Mary's are near by, but it is not at all like Oakland. Are you from the Bay Area, a lot of college kids around here just dress like they are ghetto but they grew up in Danville or Lafeyette. As for the other cop coming to the property, they were probably responding to a noise complaint, which happens at all apartment complex. Definitely the nicest complex on the street.

i have lived across the street at diablo point (formerly montreux apts)for 8 years and i see cops at whispering oaks at least 5 out of 7 nights a week. i am sure it is a noise complaint sometimes but do they really need 2-3 cop cars there for that? i have never heard of anything happening on the streets here as for muggings... i did see a homeless person pop out from under the bridge one night as i went to my car on main street because of course there is no parking on this street. he didnt harm me and walked the other way. this place is far from oakland. i work in that area and let me tell you.. BIG difference. the only thing i have seen on the street was maybe once every few months a car window is smashed or something. that could happen anywhere, including muggings. i looked at the apartments at whispering oaks awhile back, they seemed to charge for every little thing. part of the utilities, including water? some sort of parking fee, and pet rent???? im not paying a pet deposit and then pet rent. c'mon over to diablo point, the gas, garbage, and water is free! that means if you get a unit with a gas range, you cook for free and always have free heat! no hidden fees and no pet rent. the apt manager always gets things fixed promptly and my rent has only been raised once in 8 years! so, whispering oaks is hardly "the best" apt complex on the street.. maybe the busiest and most attractive from the front with the gated entries, new paint on the building, and huge noisy waterfall out front. :)

I lived in Vallejo for over 24 years-never had a thing happen to me. Moved in here, car broken into, assaulted right out front because some jerk thought I was leaving and wanted my parking spot and when I tried to tell him I wasn't leaving he got out and tried to follow me back to my apartment. I had to fake it and walk clear around the complex so he wouldn't know where I lived (single female), and he even parked in the red zone out front watching through the windows. FREAKY. Yes, it's not as bad as Oakland, but I hope people don't assume it's safe just because is Walnut Creek. Keep your guard up.
