Criminals thrive here

I have to credit Pacific Isle Aparments for for the few positive aspects even though the negatives are in far greater number. The complex rented to us when we were just starting to rebuild our credit. Now that our credit is good again, it is DEFINATELY time to move on.

In the time that we have lived here (3 years) I have witnessed many disturbing things here.

* People smoking crack and other drugs in the complex RIGHT OUT IN THE OPEN!!!

* A fight where people stabbed each other liberally right in front of my patio IN the complex.

* A crazy man who lived here for 3 months and daily harrassed other tenants and threated them. The police were often here twice a week for this guy. The manager claimed he was "under control and back on medication". Finally he left, thank God, but still...

* Cockroach infestation. Ack, I'm convinced that the situation is beyond repair. After 3 years, the fumigation etc are simlpy NOT helping. It doesn't matter how clean you keep your apartment. I woke up three times with a cockroad on my face, once on my lips. One positive aspect of these roaches is that the walls are so chock full of them that they dampen the sound between apartments.

* Bee infested walls. Apparently they can't kill the queen bee'

* People employed by the compled comming onto patio at will without tenant authorization or even notification.

* Broken washer / dryers. Only one washer / dryer is in barely workable condition in the entrie time we have lived here. Doing laundry is a nightmare.

* Parking is next to impossible if you have more than one vehicle. Both of our cars have been hit multiple times by other tenants and no notes left.

* You live right next door to a methadone with all sorts of seedy characters lurking. Maybe this is why I often see people doing drugs in the parking lot / complex'''

* The only shade of trees are cut every spring summer down to the bare nubs with NO leaves left. The apartment is cooled by a SINGLE room air conditioner which is insufficient. The apt does not get cooler than 80 degrees in the summer. Often the temps are in the high 80s / low 90s on hot days. We bought some bamboo shades to hang from the patio and offer relief from the blazing sun and were forced to take them down. They remove our only shade, provide insufficient cooling and do not allow us to provide our own cheap solution to the heap. My blood is at the boiling point (pun intended).

* Hot water pipes. The heat radiating from these can be felt on the feet just by walking on the ground. This is partially why the apartments stay so hot.

* There are at least 25 stray cats living in the complex...mostly in around the dumpsters. The cats often stray in the patio, on the doors, on the cars, on my frickin MOTORCYCLE TANK!!! The complex is taking no action to rid itself from these obnoxious strays which constantly fight outside you window while you try to sleep...mating outside the windows.

* People are allowed to make noise ALL NIGHT LONG. There are some people here who blast their guitars, yell, scream, fight in the late hours of the night and nothing is done to quiet them down.

* The back of the apartments on the west side, facing Azusa Ave, there are parties which often go on to the wee hours of the morning.

* Dust is always an issue. You literally have to dust a couple times a week as the buildup is so great. The maintenance folks run the blowers daily and it stirs the dust up.

In short, the owners / managers show complete disregard for desires / happiness of people in this complex. Tenant turnover is extremely high.

Another gripe, there is absolutely nowhere for kids to play. Kids are not allowed to play in courtyards, and there are camaras mounted everywhere (privacy issue'). If children are playing, they managers scream over the loudspeakers to stop playing, etc.

The only reason we have stayed here this long is to help build our credit back up. That, and moving is not fun...I desire stability, safety and comfot. This complex and the owners / managers are unwilling to provide this. Complaints submitted to management yeilds litte to no results.
