It's not that bad...

Years at this apartment: 2001 - 2005
I have lived here since 2001 and some things have greatly improved...
1. Almost all of the tenants who thought of this as a public housing project, and treated it like one, have moved. Nearly every tenant here works for a living, and sleeps and lives as a working person would.
In the past this was not the case. In fact 2 different apartments were on welfare only, and referred to this place as the West Covina Projects.
THANKFULLY, that has changed.
2. There are new owners, and they have bought a lot of stuff, including new washers and dryers, but ours always worked anyway.
3. There is a security guard on duty, and they get people to be quiet.
4. If they don't and people are breaking the law in terms of noise or behavior, I call the cops and they come FAST.
5. The building looks better than it did.
That's the good stuff, now for the bad...
1. Still way too many kids, who aren't supervised by their parents. Some apartments have up to 5 kids. Maybe that's fine for some that love screaming, crying, and being woke up by children, but for the rest of us it still sucks.
2. There is still a methadone clinic nearby, and as a bleeding heart liberal I think people deserve a second chance. However, it still sucks to live near one of these places, especially since 5-10 of their "clients" are homeless.
So in closing, is it the best place' No.
But it is decent, well located next to a good Stater Bros. and right by the 10 freeway. Also it is walking distance from one of Los Angeles' best brazilian BBQ's.
If you are a decent person with well behaved kids, please move in! I will make you dinner!
