For a while, I thought I was on some hidden camera show. The management lady is scattered and when I went to apply for an apartment, the whole system of doing things was archaic. She really needs to retire soon. Also, they seem to just take your money when you sign the lease and just forget who you are. One day after I moved in I was checking my mail in the lobby and the manager asked if she could help me like I was a total stranger. At first I thought I should take everything with a grain a salt and give her the benefit of the doubt. The only way she will remember you is if you keep calling to complain about various items. The weekend lady is a little nicer but she's a few beers short of a six pack too. I really don't trust Decron Properties (owner of buidling) from many of the things I've heard about them. Maintenance requests have to be submitted a minimum of three times (that includes faxing, calling and leaving written requests) before anything gets done. For some items, I just went to Home Depot for supplies and fixed them myself so to be spared the agony of the "management encounter". A serious issue has been the numerous robberies including one at gunpoint in the garage. The neighborhood itself is lovely and the building is deemed a security building but that is not the case. Doors and gates are consistantly left open or unlocked. In the summer, many people allow their friends up on the roof deck for parting and whatever. The rules allow people up there only until 10pm, but I've been awoken at 3am on many an occasion by loud partiers on the roof. (after all, it is WeHo) My only saving grace is the cool neighbors I can swap "war stories" with. The rents are fairly high for the amenities they are offering. The apartments are clean and decent, and by no means a slum, but I've seen much better. Can't wait for my lease to be up and/or real estate prices to come back to reality!
