So Far So Good

Years at this apartment: 2009 - 2009
I have lived at Monticello since January. I previously shopped around for apartments for a good six months prior to moving in. So I have a good idea of what is out there, and what they are going for. Recently I heard they dropped the price of a 2-bedroom to $1099 which is an excellent deal. A little annoyed that I am paying $300 more than that right now but it would be a good incentive to renew my lease.
I always feel safe here and they office staff is very very friendly and all my neighbors are very quiet. Everytime I call they are nice and try to be as accomodating as possible. I have never really dealt with the manager, but Amanda is a sweetheart. I too encountered the ant problem. All of a sudden one day we had an infestation. I called the office but the exterminator wasn't coming for almost two full weeks, which I couldn't wait. I sprayed all the cracks with raid on the outside, and then washed them down with vinegar on the inside and they never came back. I mean, ants are to be expected whether you live in a house or an apartment, they are just a fact of life.
I have had some slight maintenance issues and all the maintenance workers were EXTREMELY helpfull and nice!! I have never had to wait more than a day for them to come out which is WAY more than I can say for other apartment complex's I have lived in. One of the guys even came back after going home, to fix an issue I was having. They are very helpfull.
I remember something funny in the lease about the charges they do charge upon move out especially if you only live here 1 year or less. They charge you to paint the whole apartment which was really expensive and I have heard from other tenants that they are VERY PARTICULAR when they inspect your apartment upon move out. So one thing to consider. I have yet to move out myself so I guess I will deal with that when it comes. Other than getting clarification on that I would recommend living here. It is a good value, in a good neighborhood, and the apartments are nice and spacious.
Ohhh one thing I would suggest is that if you can get an apartment in the center or towards the back because the traffic on Jefferson is EXTREMELY loud, too loud to enjoy our patio and also there is WAY more guest parking in the back. The front can be a hassle sometimes to find guest parking at night.
