So Far, Great Place!

I highly recommend the Emerson Apartments.
Its located in a quiet residential area and its close to many key areas, such as Playa del Rey, Playa Vista, Parks, Culver City, Golf, Ladera Heights, Santa Monica, Marina del Rey, LAX airport, various stores, restaurants and shopping areas, Dockweiler Beach, Fox Hills Mall, etc.
The apartment complex that I live in is very pristine and clean both inside the apartment unit and around the courtyard area. Pets are allowed although they have to be 25lbs and under (cats and dogs).
The units come with gas fireplaces, balconies, sundeck patios, central AC and Heat and the townhomes (of which I live in) are comfy, spacious (over 800 sq ft) and two leveled (with an upstairs/downstairs composition)
I hardly use the central AC as the area is very coastal and breezy and the apartment cools down just by opening a few windows or the balcony/patio door.
I have not experienced any pest problems, irresponsible management or loud neighbors. If you are single, part of a couple, LMU student and want peace and quiet within your living atmosphere, this is the place to consider.
Occasionally, depending on where your unit faces, you will hear some cars or a firetruck go by...and since the airport is near you will hear the low rumble of a plane once in awhile, there are no elevators or swimming pools but this is all neglible compared to the many other quality amenities I get living here. Often you will be paying a high price for special features in a complex and you will come to see that the rooms are extremely small (can we say shoebox), you are paying mostly for the special features or there are issues with very busy location and hidden prices in using some special amenities including (business room, exercise room, etc).
The windows and patio door are soundproof too once you close everything up, so that's a plus. You can play music or television reasonably louder even at night.
For a townhome with these features and compared to other townhomes in the West LA area, the price is -very reasonable- ($1350) however not dirt cheap of course. I am a firm believer of "you get what you pay for" and if you can get a nice townhome at the lower end of averages, then I consider it a great deal.
Overall I totally recommend the Emerson apartments. There are two complexes for the apartments/townhomes. The complex I live in has a mix of studios, townhomes and 1 & 2 bed/bath apartments, so its an electic mix. The other complex across the street consists totally of townhomes in various sizes.
