Intrusive, Nosy, No Privacy Whatsoever

The management here is more intrusive than I have ever experienced anywhere else. It seems like every couple of weeks, I come "home" to find yet another notice on the door to my apartment: mandatory "preventative maintenance inspections," fire alarm inspections, etc. I just found another of these notices on my door today. I wouldn't even consider signing another lease in this place--they treat the tenants like inmates. This is probably the 8th or 9th time this year (and my lease still has three months to run--so that comes to an average of about one invasion per month) that they have come up with some excuse to enter my apartment.
They seem to think this is normal. It isn't normal. It's crazy. And it's definitely low-class. If they think so little of their tenants that they have to regularly invade their apartments, then why do they rent to them' Avalon Woodland Hills--which likes to advertise itself as "Affordable Luxury"--is not much more than a step or two removed from being a slum. It's certainly run by people who have contempt for the tenants.
Spend your money somewhere else. Life is too short to spend a year of it at Avalon Woodland Hills. It's a year you'll NEVER get back...

I agree about the "inspections". They have averaged one "inspection" a month since I've lived there. It's very intrusive and annoying. Also, when they say they're inspecting the water heater in the patio (which means going directly from my front door to the patio), I found out they actually entered my bedroom (which I am NOT happy about). (I taped a piece of my hair across the doorway so I would know for sure if they opened the door - and they did!!) |
