We're giving it a chance

This is our first year in an apt complex. We really enjoyed how the staff worked with us in order to get us in the unit. However, it seems that as soon as we moved in, all hell broke loose. The apt was in a horrific condition and no one was around to tell us what had happened. All I can tell you now is that since the apt now has a new manager, he is kicking butt and taking names. This new guy is wonderful. If I see anything wrong, it's fixed. I'm not sure if people who are complaining have had a chance to talk to this new manager but they should give him a chance. The old manager they had her was terrible. She allowed The Avalon to look and be run like a ghetto. The old manager is now gone and I hope she stays gone and far away in some other country. I'm not kidding, she was terrible. Our neighbors are a bit noisy and some are very friendly. The gym is small but always clean and always smells good. The laundry rooms are nice but could use some cleaning up every once in a while. Yes, there is no visitor parking. This poses a problem for those who invite peole over - we don't. All I can say is give this new guy a chance and you will like it here. The location of The Avalon is the best, esepcially if you plan to take public transportation a few times. The bus stops on Ventura are right outside the gated entrance, for east and west travel.

We had a similar experience- Before we signed up, the staff was all nice and put up quite a show. The moment we signed up, things just turned a corner and when we moved in our carpet was stained in all possible places and when we asked them to change the same they said you can either take this or leave it! We were never given a tour of the place as they cited reasons of the apartment 'not in a move-in condition' and when we moved in, they simply refused to change anything in there. I completely agree with this reviewer that this apartment WAS ACTUALLY run like a ghetto!! There are quite a few 'incidents' that would point to a lot of activities related to the porn industry being conducted there.

WELL...I can probably write a book on these guys here...and no, I'm not a disgruntled or a forcefully evicted tenant..just a concerned renter.
