Lovely place...yeah right.

1) Staff: it's amazing how the ladies in the office act like you just walked into their bedroom when you come in to ask a question. They make you feel like you shouldn't be there and know you're waiting but just make you wait for a cheap power trip. I guess if you don't have money, influence, or career mobility, you'll pull the typical stupid power trip just to feel better about yourself. The worst one is the curly haired woman in the back office. She hides out and lurks out between her blinds. What a freak.
2) Poo everywhere: I have a dog here, but I pick up their poo. Some people have dogs and let them poo all over the place. There should be a way to tell on people who don't pick up poo. I am tempted to carry a camera or video tape around and capture people who allow their dogs to poo on the STAIRS and LEAVE IT THERE.
3) Maintenance staff: Much has been said about the poor maintenance response. These poor guys are usually ------slapped by the aforementioned power-trippin' staff. You should hear the way they bark at the staff on the walkie talkie. While they're working on something, they'll bark at them to work on something else and expect them to just pick up and go because some cranky resident wants something done now. They probably need more help and staff to help.
4) Tenants: People come in all forms here. There some meth labs going on unbeknownst to the staff. Aspiring porn stars abound. Random black guy swinging his arms around just walking all over the complex everyday - not sure if he's got a mental disorder or if he just keep walking into the property to lurk.
5) Parking: the tandem parking is fine if you have considerate parking neighbors. We had inconsiderate ones a while ago that kept scratching up our car and leaving marks on our car when they opened their car door. They either didn't know how to drive, were just dicks, or both.
6) Carpets: even if you vacuum every week, you're always surprised at how much dirty keeps coming up. You wonder if you're just picking up the exorbitant amount of dirt that's under the carpet. We're always sneezing.
7) Fire Alarms: This is probably the most annoying part of living here. We have had to run out at 2 or 3 in the morning for a faulty alarm. The fire engines come, the high pitched buzzing freaks our dog out and you're waiting outside for almost an hour waiting until they turn it off. If anything happens after the leasing office closes, you're on your own. The security is that one person sitting at the front gate. If there's no one else, and you have a problem, too bad. Even the police won't come because they say you have to contact the apartment security first. Good grief.
8) Abuse of pet policy: While walking our dog one time, there was a boxer on the upper floor that had punched out the screen and was barking and looked like he might jump out any moment. Full grown boxers do not weigh 25 pounds or less. Look out for the pit bulls, labs, and other dogs that exceed the limits imposed on everyone else.
We will likely move to Versaille or one of the newer properties being built around Warner Center. They're going to raise the rents with the new construction so maybe the trouble tenants will be kicked out.
P.S. - if you'ra a tenant that causes problems, they'll all talk about you and know who you are and will purposely give you bad service. It's no different in an apartment complex than it is at a restaurant where you're a ----. If you're stuck living here, pay your rent early, don't give them or your neighbors unnecessary grief, and just try to be a considerate person. If you're doing these things and you're not getting the service quality, then you should complain. But if you're being a product of bad manners, then you get what you deserve.
