My experience at the Warner Center Apartments was so so...only the location made the experience tolerable.

Moving in was simply a disaster. Not only did managment not check to see if the prior tenant moved out. They didn't inform me until two days before that the aparment would be not be available for another two weeks as stated on the original lease. (Imagine showing up with a Truck full with all your furniture but not having a place to drop it off).

Two weeks later the same situation. I drive in and management couldn't find the keys to my apartment and hour later told me that the apartment I was suppose to move in was still occupied. The worst part is I never received a call from management telling me about this.
(Again, imagine showing up with a Truck full of all your furniture but not having a place to drop it off).

Eventually a third lease is written up moving me into my current apartment a few weeks later. The apartments are clean and the building is quiet. A variety of people reside here. It's mostly middle class families with young kids or senior citizens. I think if you drive around and take a look at the cars you'll get a good feel for the community.

My disklikes:

Managment - This includes only the two leasing agents I worked with last summer. Both were unproffesional in performance (not appearance). How many times can they lose checks (my deposit and rent)'

No return phone calls EVER. (Except when THEY need something to get a commission)

Unathorized entries - Despite all the documents I signed. Twice people entered the apartment without my knowledge. Nothing was stolen but I've come home and found items rearranged. No biggie but it's a concern. Obviously it was for maintanence, but I found it to be disturbing that managemnt had no records of anyone entering my aparmtment.

Likes:
Apartments are clean and spacious. The people in my building are friendly but keep to themselves. The facilities, pool and tennis courts (which are lit at night) are nice.

Suggestions:
1) Make sure you get your keys before packing up and moving from your old apartment.
2) Document the time and name of everyone you deal with. It's a large complex and the attitude is 'someone else will take care of it'
3) Don't expect much....This is standard housing. If you're in an occupation where time is critical, this place may cause you more headaches than you can imagine. Once you're settled it's a nice place.
