You might want to schedule an inspection by an outside company before buying your "new" home at the former Warner Center apartments. There has been mold present in many units for years and the extreme amount of leaks caused by the demolition/rehabbing of the units have caused much more water damage to walls/ceilings/floors (cave-ins,water saturating walls to the point of escaping through outside walls of units, a/c closets saturated with no repairs ever done...just left to dry, water heater closets soaked and simply painted over)are continuing. Make sure if you decide to buy that you insure you're not buying into the mold or a unit that has had a cave-in to the ceiling.
Know that the ventilation systems are interconnected and if any heavy odors/cleaners/etc are very strong in an nearby unit, it will be in yours, too.
Do not believe you will be able to enjoy full use of your new home IE: Playing music, Walking normally about your unit, as the insulation is minimal and you will get to know your neighbors more intimately than you would have thought.
The elevators may work, some weeks one will...frequently both won't and there are no upgrades being done to the elevator components.
Know that all of your windows will have air leaks, especially the patio doors....and no, they are not replacing them. You will be buying into hot air leaking in during the summer and cold drafts during the winter. Many tenants have always been told that there was nothing that could be done. Wonder why replacement wasn't an option to correct the problem.
In the years we have lived here we have experienced new "dips" and floor level changes within our unit as well as the common areas of the building. Scary to walk the same path from your car to your door and experience "dips" in the concrete walkways that weren't present the day before.
So buyers....be careful...you should never judge a book by it's pretty cover...especially when you are buying it with your hard earned money.

Our exoeriences with "Kat" the sales consultant at Warner Pines was truly one of the WORST of our adult lives. I have never managed to meet a ruder, more unprofessional sales person. It is simply incredible to us (my wife and I) that she has a job showing and leasing units there. I left there with SUCH a bad taste in my mouth. Please be aware of any location where the sales people don't even TRY to pretend to be nice. No "Hello's" or "Thanks for coming by
", or "Please have a seat here and fill this paperwork out". Nothing like that. She responded to our request to see an apt. with the word, "Yes?" and as we were walking around the grounds she added, "I SAID that we have only a two-bedroom right now, weren't you paying attention?" -- I was simply floored by that kind of attitude. It was a pleasant lay-out with the plants and water and all, but I get the feeling that they don't even ATTEMPT to fix or address problems once they arise. Our visit was a nasty, unpleasant experience and we wouldn't rent from Warner Pines if it was the last place left in LA. Go see for yourself. Be careful. Regards, ~Alex~

First I would like to point out that this guy is unaware that he posted a Warner Pines review to the Metropolitan review. Maybe Kat was right.....he doesnt pay attention very well. I have lived at Warner Pines for 3 years and the leasing staff ( those here now and in the past ) are some of the most helpful and friendly people I have ever known or conducted business with. Any time I need something taken care of it is done in a timely manner and with a smile. Due to the friendship I have built with the staff I have been in the office on many occasions and I have NEVER seen any of the behavior mentioned by "jgrunner". I dont know what his motives are for his review but I can assure you that if you contact the staff you will not experience what "jgrunner"/Alex described above. All the best to you all, Michael

In response to the original posting. The sales office will lie to you and the HOA Manager Beverly is useless. The HOA doesn't work for the owners it works against the owners. The Board of the HOA is run by the developer RADCO and holds the majority since they cannot sell the remaining phases. The owners really have no say. It's pretty on the surface, but a nightmare to live there. There is no sound proofing between the floors and if you happen to get a neighbor that smokes your entire unit will fill with unwanted secondhand smoke. The HOA will do nothing to prevent the unwanted second hand smoke either, but they will send you a notice regarding a hanging plant. If you call regarding the smell of mold, they will tell you it's your responsibility to clean your air ducts. Several air conditioning units have gone out during the peak season, the homeowners were told when they purchased that these were new air units, but come to find out most are the same air units from 1987 when the building was built. New owners have been hit with $2k to replace the air conditioning unit.

The Met HOA has turned the community into a police state. They have attempted "increase security" by forcing everyone to carry key cards and making most doors into exit only. Old fashioned keys used to open these doors, now that they can't people just leave them propped open. So much for forward thinking by the HOA. The HOA/developer is playing around with expensive and useless attempts to increase security on the homeowner's dime. The residual costs of maintaning each terminal and renewing cards will add unecessary costs to our HOA bill.

I have lived here at the metropolitan warner center for almost 3 years and every review on here is accurate! its horrible here dealing with the HOA, I have seen apartments with drug activity and the security here never deals with them but if im out at my car at 9pm moving small items the security rolls up on me in there little golf carts and starts prying around telling me i cannot move stuff at night, when it was just little items... and in the underground parking lot there are 2 stray cats that live there and smell up the place (smells like dog pound) and some dog repetitively keeps taking dumps near them right where I park, I have been into the HOA twice and they told me there is nothing they can do about it! WTF!!! Disgusting... Dont live here. Trust me
