Security Deposit

I moved out of this dump because it became unsafe for us to live there.
Graffiti was everywhere; my vehicles were broken into three times; and right before I moved an upstairs neighbor had his door kicked in (in broad daylight) and many of his things stolen.
After I moved, the management decided to remodel the place, but evidently expected me to pay for it.
They not only kept my security deposit, but also tried to charge me additional amounts for things that had never been in the apartment to begin with (like interior door locks for $100) or for things that I had replaced before leaving (like drip pans for $20).
I had to fight them in court to keep from having my credit ruined.
Fortunately, they lost and now realize that not everyone will put up with their underhanded deeds! When the previous company owned the apartments before 2006, it was a great place to live in.
Now the new management has let it completely deteriorate! Whatever you do, do NOT move into this community! Save yourself the trouble.
If you already live there, watch your security deposit when you move out!
