Older Apts., horrible maintenance, decent neighborhood

It is an older complex. It has taken 6 months for at least 2 maint. projects to be repaired. Office staff and maintenance staff always have excuses as to why it takes months to get things fixed. The apt. still has minor issues that were here when we moved in, but they're liveable. Noise is not a major factor. You can hear the people walking above you and you can hear things in the hallway as if your front door was open, parking is assigned, but often residents' guests will take your parking space and you have to park on the other side of the complex. Centrally located to shopping. There is some drug activity that is fairly obvious, but doesn't seem to be a major problem as of yet. One resident told me that he had his patio window shot out one night and another has told me that her (top floor) apartment has had a leaking ceiling for months. There is no security and skater kids have to be run out of the buildings on a regular basis. Finally it was very frustrating when I went to renew my lease (couldn't move) and saw that they were renting several units just like mine for $200/month LESS for 12 month leases. OUCH!!
