My lease was from 11/1/02 to 4/30/02. I was a fool to rent, word-of-mouth from my brother's girlfriend- INTERIOR UNSEEN. I had a cousin that lived there back in the early 90's and they were great then. Intercoms for security, some w/ alarms (he had one). They were nice THEN so do to work constraints I couldn't view it until the same day I signed my lease. I was told that they absolutely could not show apts. on weekends!! Can you believe that'! My 30-day day notice was given in writing along w/ my $569 rent check on 4/1/03. I moved out on May 5, 2003. I gave them the per diem (per day) amount ($18.97) required for my rent because I was cleaning and didn't finish until the 5th. I gave them checks nearly everyday for 5 days because I had more cleaning to do than I'd thought. They took my checks (as usual), made a copy, signed it and gave it to me- and you can best believe I have every last one of my signed receipts, not to mention bank statements ( I learned long ago to never pay rent w/ a money order).

One point I mustn't forget to add is that due to my past issues w/ another landlord and his "tricks and schemes" , Aurora Meadows required that I must make an additional deposit of $569 for LAST'S MONTH'S RENT. I did, but I didn't like it. I thought about going elsewhere then. Yet, I paid it. The Move-In Special was $199/
1 brdm/6mo lease. I went w/ this but had to pay the Special ($199) PLUS the LAST MONTH'S RENT deposit of $569.

I paid every month-on time- except for January. I paid the rent on 1/2/03. I was off from work on 1/1/03, like most folks and called over to the front office to see if they were open. The machine came on. I realized...duh...it's a holiday, they're not in. Now, I don't give large sums of $ (anymore) without getting a written receipt and to make double sure that there's little room for hanky-panky( ie, "we didn't get the rent when you dropped it in the slot..." or thieving employees/owners) I write checks. Easy to cancel and re-write because shady landlords that may want you out may say they won't wait on the money order to be refunded by the issuing company/bank.

I brought my rent in, got my receipt on 1/2/03. A couple of weeks later, Lana Acker (bookkeeper' During my lease time there have been 3!) told me I was a day late and she wanted $25 for the late fee. I KNEW at that moment that as soon as my lease was up I was outta there!!

Sooo, out of a $199 deposit I get $72 and some change back. And it takes them nearly a MONTH to tell me that "oh, you signed a SEVEN month lease and you should have moved out on 5/31/03." What bastards! I played it by the book and they try to screw me like this. I have to send them copies of everything because they hire thieves.

In March (3 days after I start a new job), there were a rash of car break-ins and I was one of them. They tore open my stearing column (along w/ 6 other cars in the parking lots I could see) trying to steal the car. I was unable to drive it for a month. The office management could care less. Little kids would twist my door knob- one who didn't look older than 4-walked in! The noise was in stereo!! My dish washer never worked- not a day! There were paint splatters over all the cabinets. They even painted the tub, which caused the paint to come off on your back when you bathed. The countertops are all painted too and will stain from colored dish detergent and bubbled and peel as well. Go check out their balconies. Walk around. They are coming apart and off the walls and hinges they are attached to! My brother's girlfriend had a couple of friends over and one of her guests legs tore through the floor of the balcony. No joke! Luckily she lived on the 2nd floor (the 1st flr. is basement level so the 2nd isn't high off the ground.).

You'd be wise to tell everyone you know to dodge that place like the plague. It's really run-down and tacky and tacky, run- down people run it!

She is absolutely right about everything she said. There are extremely sheisty apartment staff. They dont care about you at all or the well being of the community. They will paint over anything instead of ahving it fixed. My son broke out in a terrible rash only to find out they were bed bugs. When i notified management of this infestation they pretended to send an exterminator over. i caould tell no difference in the living conditions from him being there. These apartments are so trifling i wouldnt allow my dead sog to stay there to long. Oh did i mention only one person in the office speaks fluent English.
