Hello All,

I do believe some people are facing problems living in Aventine Apartments. But I believe you can improve your experience with Aventine by selecting a good apartment. Take care of the following tips before renting the apartment.
1) Never hand over a single dollar/ check till you don't see the actual apartment you are about to rent. They will tell you a specific apartment is about to be vacated. They will make it ready by the time you move in start the application process. Later on they will say the existing tenant has extended his lease you have to settle down with another apartment.
2) Tell them your requirement. You are looking for a sun facing apartment to get enough natural light and fix your dish antenna. Apartments with lack of natural sunlight make it dull & gloomy, increase your Electricity bill.
3) Apartment on the top floors has a good view in few buildings of Aventine and ample sunlight during the day. Opt for top floors if you don t have kids.
4) Pay your rent on time and go for 1 year lease if you see the apartment before leasing and planning to live for a long time. You may get good deals & discount.
5) The walkways have stains on carpet and apartment next to the Trash have an unpleasant smell some times. But door of the trash is closed always.
6) Apartments are big for the rent but I have heard that rents will increase once the lease is over. Please do verify what will be the rent later.

Thanks to the leasing office for this little tid bit of FALSE information. I do have photos of the trash piling into the hallways - hypodermic needles, dirty diapers, cat/dog feces, ect. Please do verify that! How are the doors always closed with that? By the way both apartments that I lived in there were never shown to me only the models....

Oh please anyone that would "RECOMMEND" this dump has to either work for Riverstone or be a complete moron! Oh and its NOT the lack of natural sunlight that makes it dull & gloomy.... Wake up from the dream you are having!!!!

What a joke. Yeah, you can be shown the apartment, but unless they let you spend the night and hear the shouting in the hallways and partying in the parking lot (and visa versa) - until they let you hear the baby screaming in the hallway at 3am - until you come home from shopping to find out that an asian sex slave ring was broken up two doors down from you - until you have to advise the leasing office that there are transients sleeping in the laundry room because the gate never works and everyone seems to think it's ok to prop open the door - until you go to swim in the pool and put your foot in a pile of slimey algae - until you go to workout but can't because there are teenagers drinking in the workout room at all hours of the day and night - until you go to bring your groceries up from the garage, but can't because the elevator is broken and you are handicapped and cannot use the stairs - until they let you see the trash in the hallway (not the chute) and piling into the dark garages (yeah, real safe) - until they let you see and smell the drug use that is rampant - until they let you live with broken appliances for months on end when nothing gets fixed, and tell you to turn off your toilet to stop a leak, but never come to fix it, and allow you to live in a moldy leaking mess for months and months because no one in the leasing office actually cares to enter a request for maintenence when you call - until you have seen that no one ever plows the parking lot in the snow - until you have gotten stuck outside the gate on the one night in a hundred that it was closed - unless all of that is accomplished, you have not gotten a picture of the truth about living at aventine. I have been living in apartments my entire life. Trust me, space is not everything. I have a much smaller apartment now, away from the ghetto, with non-noisy neighbors and I am much happier. I have rented in good and bad, but I have never lived in a dump like the Aventine. The staff is rude and unresponsive, the residents are trashy, maintenence is a joke, the gate is a joke, and the rents are sky sky sky high. Look elsewhere, trust me. Yeah, I had a big apartment - that was so poorly insulated that keeping the apartment just above freezing in the winter cost over $200 a month. If you like to live in the ghetto, and trust me, it is a ghetto, then pay the ghetto rents, don't pay the rents at aventine because there are much nicer places available, in the same area. Go down Parker a ways. Look around. If you rent at aventine, you are asking for trouble.
