From bad to worse

I have lived here for a year and I must say it has been nothing less than an adventure. Through it all though I would like to focus on the one issue that has disturbed me most.
The setting is my bedroom in my quaint (ok so I lied, every story needs a humble home) apartment. As I lay sleeping with images of roaches dancing in my head I am awakened by a severe noise. Is someone breaking in,, could it be the man of my dreams coming home from a hard days work,, could it be an accident out on Colfax''' No it is the noisy heater that has awoken me. Every other night since my heater (is that what that ugly duct work is called'') has been so kind as to remind that is there at about 2:30 in the morning. At first I thought it just missed me and that is what it made the horrendous racket. Then I thought it could be someone in the apartment next door banging on his or her heater. Then it dawned on me, it only did it when I set the temperature over 70. So I have concluded that it is an attempt by management (the evil demons that they are) to control the rising costs of utilities in the complex, well ok maybe just in my apartment.
For real though, this racket has caused me many nights of interrupted sleep and I must say that I am fed up with it. I guess I can chalk it all up to moving into a Luxurious Aurora Apartment ::smirks::
