I am a 22 yr. old female who has relocated from Hickory Ridge apartments about 9 years ago. I lived here when I was about 10 - 13 years old. I went to Mrachek Middle School, Columbia Middle School and have seen things no thirteen year old, let alone ten year old should see. Hickory Ridge was filled with pedifiles, perverts, gangs and violence. I remember just walking to school and grown men trying to talk me into getting into their car with them. The apartments next to them were so gang infested and young girls are so easily a target of these crimes that go on here. I used to walk to Safeway and Taco Bell, minding my own buisness when older guys and even grown men used to approach me. Needless to say sometimes I would fall for their -------- and get in. This is no situation a young girl should ever be in. I wasn't the only one either, my friends, being only 10-13 years old at the time also would go through the same thing. Now, being 22 years old, I would NEVER move my son ( who is 1yr old)anywhere in the vicinity of Aurora. NEVER, If you care about your children, DO NOT MOVE ANYWHERE AROUND HERE. I am telling you from past experience as a teen, experiencing this first hand and with it fresh in my mind. PLEASE don't let the same thing I endured to happen to your child. DON'T MOVE HERE!!

I have to say, you are an extraordinarily facetious, judgmental, and overreactionary person. I've lived in Aurora, near this particular complex for several years, and I've never had a problem. My children attend the nearby public schools, and they are incredibly happy. I've never seen a single gang member, or drug dealer, for that matter, anywhere near here. My best friend, who happens to reside in Hickory Ridge with her son, adores the area. It's sad that someone like you could have the power and desire to degrade one of the few decent neighborhoods, and to depict it as hell. Oh, and by the way, you spelled "pedophile" wrong. Take advantage of a better education wherever you are now, because you obviously missed your opportunity here. That's not the neighborhood's problem. That's your problem.

First off if you are going to attack some one for their lack of education perhaps you should ensure that you are not going to make yourself look as uneducated as you are trying to make this lady appear. fa*ce*tious-Playfully jocular; humorous: facetious remarks. I could find nothing facetious in this review. Having lived in this area I can attest to the issues with gangs and crime. An unwarranted attack on this poster just shows a desperate need to justify living in the area. Sadly such incidents occur in good or bad neighborhoods, so trying to discredit this post is like telling people that there are no bad people in the world. There is no way of knowing what this lady or other children in the area have been through with out keeping them under twenty-four hour surveillance. Perhaps this post will keep some children safe from harm.

Wow Victoria...you know, I'm sure there's a women's shelter somewhere near you. I bet there are plenty of women who have been victims of sexual assault there. Why don't you go nitpick their spelling and call them stupid, too?! I mean seriously...look at yourself. It's pathetic. A girl relates a story about being approached by pedophiles as a 10-year old girl, and all you can do is question her spelling? Get off your high horse!
