Can't Wait to Leave

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007
We were instanlty attracted to this communtiy because of the, then current, market price ($625) for the largest 2 bed/2 bath, 1,000 sq. ft. apartment. The apartment seemed very clean when we moved in and we were very excited. We moved in the beginning of the year 2006. Since then, the office staff has been extremely uncooperative and sometimes combative. They accused us of paying our rent late, (when it was not) tried to fine us, but the problem was quickly resolved with very little help and reluctance from the staff. The maintenance has been adequate, attending to needs fairly quickly. The noise levels are usually low to non-existent, but have been quite disturbing upon occasion to the extent that the after hours security has been called several times. We have heard of several cases of cars being broken into and less of them actually being stolen. When we were asked to renew our lease after our first year, the price of the apartment had increased over $100 with no change to the apartment itself or any incentives. I have to agree with other opinions about the A/C. It is a little ridiculous that in the summer when it doesn't get very hot in Colorado, that it has reached over 90 degrees in the apartment even with fans in all of the windows. In the winter, however, there is poor insulation and the heat bill rises accordingly since the heat you are paying for seeps out to warm the outside of the apartment. And finally, there have been, on more than one occasion, instances where the hot water did run out.
This was a decent apartment for our first, and I'm sure that there are many other opinions either celebrating the community or harshly criticizing it. There are different experiences for each tenant or family and there are probably other places the are comparably priced that might better suit your needs.
