It was a truly awful living experience. My roommate and I weren't from the area, so we didn't know that Kennedy Ridge was not in the best neighborhood, and by the time we realized our mistake, it was too late. The apartments are dingy and bad smells are constantly wafting through the ventilation system. The worst part about Kennedy Ridge, however, is the management. They are completely indifferent (and oftentimes plain rude) to the tenants and are as unhelpful as they could possibly be. We had several maintenance problems that were never fixed, and it took several phone calls to get anyone to even attempt to address the problems. When the maintenance people did come, they tracked mud all over our apartment, and once we caught two men leaving our apartment when no one had had permission to be inside. Worse, we found that had we not seen them physically leaving the apartment, we never would have known they had been there because they left no note, despite the fact that Kennedy Ridge has a policy that if anyone enters your apartmnent, they will leave notice that they have been there. We saw a knife fight in front of the apartment once, had the police knock on our door twice in the middle of the night because of problems with the neighbors, and finally, when we moved out, we spent hours cleaning in the hopes of getting our deposit back but were instead charged for stains that we had written up when we moved in as having already been there and ended up getting nothing back. When we tried to fight it, they basically told us it is entirely subjective whether they decide to refund the deposit or not, so we had no recourse. Unless you want a huge headache in a dangerous and shabby environment, DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!
