I was astounded that I discovered so many bad reviews. I thought I was the only one disgusted by this dump. I wish I had read what you guys had to say before I moved in. The list of complaints is endless. The halls are rancid. I dreaded the trip through the halls to my apartment because I was staggered by the overwhelming stench. The halls were cleaned about once every 10-14 days and that is just inadequate. There was broken glass in the parking lot. The maintenance crew is either severely understaffed or just incompetent. One of the eyes on my stove stopped working and it took 5 weeks to fix. I had to mention it to the office 4 times. The 4th time I was told to be patient because maintenance is busy. It seemed that I was annoying them. They would never have allowed me to be 5 weeks late with the rent!!! Speaking of late rent, I was assessed a fee of $50 for paying my rent late. The problem with that is, MY RENT WAS NOT LATE!!! I appealed to Lynel Fitzgerald, the acting property manager. I later found out that she is the vice president of the company. I told her that the rent was on time and essentially, I was accused of lying. There was a water leak on the sidewalk in front of my apartment and I am sure the tenants were paying for this wasted water. During subfreezing weather the water leak would result in a sheet of ice on the sidewalk and the tenants would have to fend for themselves. Then there are the office workers. I HAVE NEVER SEEN A MORE RUDE GROUP OF WOMEN IN MY LIFE!!! After being accused of paying my rent late, I insisted on a time stamped receipt when I paid my rent. On one occassion I was asked why I needed it and on another occasion the lady blatantly refused to give it to me. I have been present when the business receptionist would hang up in the face of a tenant. I could go on and on and on. Suffice it to say, THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE!!! I complained to the management company (Thompson Michie Associates, Inc.) and I was not surprised to have received no response. If you do not mind being subject to the stereotypical "slumlord", then move to Kennedy Ridge. If you are NOT opposed to broken car windows, poorly kept property, rude and hateful management, pitiful maintenance crews, and undue late fees, then Kennedy Ridge is the place for you.
