Okay, so we thought this place was going to be an okay place to live. When we checked out the web sites and the rental catalogs we noticed several things about this complex that were appealing to us and we took the tour. The lady was super nice (apparently a temp. employee while someone was on vacation) and showed us some of the things that attracted us to the complex...such as the...not one, but TWO swimming pools. We figured it would be nice to spend the summer lounging by the pool and also figured with 2 pools at the community, there shouldn't be the problem of overcrowding. Well, we were wrong! As you pass by the community, there's a lovely blue and white banner out front boasting "Our pool is open! Is yours'" Okay, this is obviously meant to lure prospective tenants. Wouldn't be bad if the pools were actually open! The main pool by the leasing office has been closed several times for at least a week each time for various reasons...unsupervised kids trashing the pool, excessively high urine levels in the pool water (b/c of all the little kids that are there in their suits without the "Little Swimmers" swimming undies, (they don't let people know that there are pool restrooms that are available so people pee in the pool, ducks flying over the fence and spending the night in the pool...all told by the management office. The second pool hasn't even been opened yet! Apparently, there's too much winter damage and the complex is understaffed and can't take the time to fix it...so basically, we have complex with nearly 1,000 units with one small pool for everyone to use. This is completely unacceptable given how much they boast and brag about their TWO SWIMMING POOLS...oh, and they are NOT heated pools either. Anyway, the rest of the community is just okay. Dumpsters are emptied regularly, thank goodness b/c people dump all sorts of stuff including furniture into the dumpsters which doesn't leave much room for actual trash bags to be thrown in. LOTS of kids in the area, mostly unsupervised and very noisy and have no respect for other people's property or privacy. If we have our blinds open, our neighbor kids will come up to our patio door and look inside our apartment. The walls are pretty thin, closets are small and on occasion ours reaks of cigarette smoke from the folks that live upstairs. That's right, somehow the smoke from the apt. upstairs makes its way into our bedroom closet. If you have a complaint about anything, management pretty much tells you what they think you want hear just to pacify you and get you to leave the office. I wouldn't recommend this community to anyone who wants peace and quiet, security, competent management or respect. It's definitely going to be a temporary place for us...we're already looking for another place to live and our lease isn't up for another 5 months!
