I have lived here at the Oak Ridge Apartments since I moved to CO 3 yrs ago. I come from Brooklyn, NY and this place is really not as bad as some of these reviews. In Jan '07 I had my Grand Cherokee stolen from right in front of my apt, then in Feb (the next month) my apt was broken into and ramshacked- on the 3rd floor. Then in Jul '07 someone broke my window in my new car- but took nothing, 2 wks after my nieghbor's car that was parked next to mine was broken into for his stereo. My point is that ---- happens anywhere you rent an apt with 1,000 residents and for whoever called this place the 'ghetto', move to an apt in New York, NY then talk about ghetto. It boils down to demographics and people's lack of pride. most of these residents come from different places and backgrounds and probably do things different from you- but what do you expect' If you need the opportunity to get on your feet and get your life together, this is a place with good deals on rents you just have to be aware of your surroundings and adjust accordingly, while also doing your part to make this community liveable.

Its not the worst place in the world of course and nothing in Denver can compare to any part of New York. Its too bad that your car and apt was broken into but I thought that they had security riding through the parking lot? Oh thats only on certain days, and its not really the apt complex its the manangement team that need assistance. Oh and don't look for a deposit back because they need that for carpet cleaning 70 bucks and don't even try and clean the apt when and if you move out because they will arrange that for you too another 60 bucks and please go buy new drip pans because thats another 64 dollar charge.
