Whites not allowed

So I have lived here for 6 months now, and it has not been so pleasant. It was a 1 bedroom apartment, and I'm a single white male age 26. First, the maintenance is horrible, I had an electrical outlet that was not working that I found when I moved in, told them about it, one month later a guy came by, looked at it and said 'I'll figure something out for it'. 2 months later he comes by again, looks at it, and says I need some tools. And then I gave up after another 2 months waiting for it. The plumbing is poor, good luck trying to get the right temperature in the bath/shower.

Also the neighborhood is LOUD and there are tons of crime going on. There was a murder a few months ago here... and police are constantly seen coming on calls to various apartments. In the area of my apartment there was always -------- with their doors open and kids running around screaming (all hours of the day), and ------ have loud spousal arguments outside. I also smell pot various places in the apartment, most likey smoken by the gang bangers walking around.

White are generally not welcomed here, this place being 80% hispanic, 19% black, 1% white. I got dirty looks everywhere I went, and I would occasionaly here the word 'gringo' in their spanish as I walked by.

Tne outside is a mess with loads of trash on nearly every porch, they said they'd get it cleaned up when I moved in but it still has yet to be cleaned. Same with the stairs which are in horrible condition, they promised it'd be fixed up within a few months of me moving in, and here 6 months later, they haven't done a thing in my area. They are doing maintenance though to clean up the place, but have little concern for the loud noise they make next door or the fact they turn off water periodically without warning.

The laundry room is a complete mess, and don't leave your stuff there even for a second, I left a brand new box of detergent in a black plastic bag in there for a few minutes only to come back and find it gone.

Terrible place to move to. I'm off to a house in Colorado Springs.

I think the racial comments made in this review are inappropriate and misplaced. I didn't come to this site because I was looking for some 26 year old's personal feelings on black people fighting (last time I checked marital arguments occur across racial lines) or his possibly delusional and paranoid feelings that people were looking at him funny because of his race. This man obviously has issues unrelated to the purpose of this site. I could apprecaite the comments that actually pertained to the complex but felt like the rest of the review was so distasteful that I don't plan on visiting this site again. This review is a joke and I'm very disappointed in the site for allowing such an ignorant review, obviously biased by racial prejudices, to be posted on their site.

czsmith, I knew I shouldn't have put that as my subject title because people automatically assume its racist. You probably didn't even read my review fully cause most of it had to do with the upkeep of the apartments, etc., little was about race. So I may be delusional when I walk by a group of --------- and they all turn to me and say 'Gringo'... Regardless MY subjective experience was a feeling of being unwelcomed due to MY race. Not to mention the fact that you cannot communicate with your neighbors unless you speak spanish.

to czsmith: I am a white woman who is married to a black man and we have a bi-racial daughter. That being said, even though I don't totally agree with the way that mattmacagno "voiced" his opinion, I understand where he is coming from and what he is saying. You will deffinately get what you pay for while living in this apartment complex....which isn't much. Granted, this community is huge and the maintenace is probably incredibly overworked since the buildings, plumbing...and everything else...is going to shambles. But hey! They are doing their best! I have many qualms that I have taken up with the management here at River Falls, but truth is...I am getting what I paid for. My suggestion: if you can afford more than the River Falls, don't move here. If this is perfect for you budget, c'mon over! Join the family! Chances are you are already used to these types of living conditions. i.e. - waiting 7 months for maintenance to fix my broken window; being woken up in the middle of the night to gunshots or to people from the BondYard (a bar that is known for it's gang activity that just so happens to be in the strip mall right next to the complex) bringing their fights into the parking lots, or the police shining their lights into my window at 3:00 in the morning, trying to find a blood trace from someone who got shot, or the "critters" that find a home in the bushes/ditch/roof/carpets/trees of the River Falls apartment homes. hahaha. Yes...I said CRITTERS! I have had my house broken into...by squirrels. They knocked down my screen because the screens on the windows are so old and I guess they were hungry, and they tried to get to a batch of brownies that I had just made. I have been "approached" by 4 racoons who were very, shall I say, Hungry?...as well. I have woken up to a cockroach sitting on my 6 month old's cheek; I have caught a 14 inch rat in the "rat contraption" thing that my step sons made me for this exact reason; and the bats???? WOW! I thought that the seagull's on South Beach in Miami, trying to get the hot dog out of my hand were vicious! haha! And the sad thing is...I am serious! But like I said, you honestly, truely, and no BS'ing, get what you pay for when you live here. That being said...I will be here for awhile longer. Because, unfortunately, this is what I can afford. I may be the minority here. I may not understand what 80% of my neighbors are saying to me. And I may not like living here. But this is my home. And it's a roof over my head...even though it's a roof that leaks and that management expects me to pay for...haha...it's still home.

I found nothing wrong with your review. In fact, I found your remarks concerning the demographics of the complex to be reasonably accurate. One of the reasons this site exists is to warn and inform people of possible problems or negative elements that may be found in a community. If anyone makes a positive remark concerning River Falls (now called the promenade ) either works for management or is doing their fellow man a disservice. The fact is River Fall??????s is a terrible community to reside in, unless you like having your property stolen or placing your personal safety or families safety at risk. Don??????t forget, Free cockroaches and ants with rent, when you commit yourself to hell by signing a lease.
