Things getting better

New management is trying harder. The complexes were for sale last year and so they had been let go. Greenbriar and Saddlerock got bought by a company from CA. I looked up on internet and they buy properties and fix them up. They have a good rating in CA. The kids that were causing the problems last summer were kicked out and haven't had anymore problems since. I have lived here for two years and was discouraged with property since last summer. The new management and new owners took over last winter. They have 20 million to fix up property. I live in one of the North Facing building that have the ice problem because of the poor drainage system.They started painting buildings last week, have plans to correct drainage problem, are upgrading the clubhouses, adding a movie theater room, redoing all the landscaping, and interiors of apartments. They called everyone last week asking what they needed fixed and what can be done to improve service. The explained the property was in worse shape then they expected when they received it after the sale. The preceding owner knew they were selling it so didn't want to put anymore money into it. This area of town a very nice upscale area. So am giving them another chance and renewing my lease for another year. the property never did look bad but we did notice that the upkeep started sliding last year. Well come back and review as improvements are being made and let you know if new management are owners are following through with promises. I know they are two other upscale apartment complexes around town and have talked to friends that live in them and they say they do a could job of managing them.
Also they only raised my rent 35 dollars. They gave me an option of moving to the new remodeled apartments and they my rent would to up to current market or stay where I am and would only go up 35 dollars. Also the previous management had goofed and actually made my rent a lot lower than it had been on previous lease and the new company found the mistake and gave me my money back and lowered my rent down to the lease amount. I expected them to raise the rent back up but they honored the lower amount and only raised 35 dollars. So I am buying well under market. They said we had been good tenants and didn't want to loose us. So they seem to be trying to correct things.
