Things can't get any worse here. I live on a third story apartment, upon move in date my heater, shower, and garbage disposal did not work. The maintenance person told us that we would only be able to heat one room at a time and have to shut off all the other vents in the apartment and stated the heater worked fine. A couple winters later the heater completely blew out not turning on at all and a leak developed from the ceiling pouring down buckets of water. Every time it rained or snowed we called maintenance that would come out and paint over the leak but never fixing the problem. We were forced to go the entire winter with a leaky roof and no heat. The City of Aurora code enforcement has visited us several times for inspections and always leave appalled not only at the condition of the apartment but the fact that the management still has not fixed problems even after being fined by the city.
While living here I have seen 4 people shot, 1 person stabbed, and 2 fires. There have also been several drug dealers in the complex, which leaves coming home difficult when the apartments are blocked off by police when they have raided some of these apartments. My brother s car has been broken into twice in the couple weeks he stayed with me. I frequently go outside to find gang related graffiti sprayed all over the buildings, playground equipment and dumpsters.
Added to these problems is the management. The management of the property will not let of us out of our lease oblivious to their legal responsibilities. If you move here make sure you have a lawyer.
