Husband and I have lived here for three years. Unit was newly renovated when we moved in, but immediately had issues with the bathtub faucet not being sealed correctly and was shooting water into our wall for the first month. Exhaust hose from the disposal not being properly connected, and the piping under the kitchen sink is too narrow, so flooding in the cabinet or all over our counters is quite common when we run the dishwasher. Front door would warp and shift in the door frame whenever the weather gets cold making it nearly impossible to use the deadbolt, bent both of our keys... door was finally filed down and "improved" slightly only a few months ago.
Biggest issue was still in the shower wall, while my husband was showering, the soap dish just simply fell off the wall with six other tiles, took two days for maintenance to come out and even look at it (even after we provided photos of its condition)... the entire wall, drywall, tiles all came down with no effort as everything was rotted out. I requested having it mold inspected, instead it was all "repaired" within a day. Soaked through insulation was left in the wall without time to dry, new drywall was put up without being blue board, seams not being sealed, the old tiles being reused without the thinset or bits of the old drywall being properly cleaned off, and pretty large gaps in the grout left and still not addressed as we now have a duct taped shower. Had been wanting mold to be addressed for years, and only twice before the wall falling apart ever got a response. Once from the man I saw picking up trash in the parking lot each day telling me, "the wall is not green, there is no mold" then immediately leaving, the next with them simply putting new caulking along the bottom of the tile and leaving. I have been sleeping on our couch in the living room for over a year as the mold in the bathroom has been giving me intolerable migraines and a lot of other health issues making it difficult for me to function.
Neighbors directly above us have been using our patio as their personal trash can when cleaning their balcony all three years, everything they have up there and deem trash comes down, including their dog's feces and after countless complaints to the office we've achieved nothing but alienating ourselves from these neighbors to the point they intentionally crash, bang and jump in their unit so they knock our decorations off the wall. We've watched over a dozen people being arrested right outside our window. The level of shouting fights held outside has escalated to all hours, and children are barely ever, if even, supervised and allowed to roam the entire complex freely. Small feet and hand marks in mud on our cars is a pretty common sight in the summer months. Trees and other aspects around the complex are frequently broken by the children.
Husband's car has been broken in to through the passenger window, my car has been damaged three times in the past year... twice from other cars pulling into the adjacent space and running away, once by a rock thrown at the hood. Covered parking has also been "under construction" for the past three years, limiting the number of spaces available the entire time, also adding to the damage our cars have sustained.
Least of the problems are the pigeons roaming the complex. When one built a nest in our dryer exhaust vent, it took over a month for maintenance to come remove it and and put up a new grate, despite numerous calls. Was only when I demanded money for the laundry machines to wash our clothes because I was unhappy with the fire hazard that they responded. We've been in other story apartments, but every third story we saw, the entire balcony would be absolutely covered in pigeon feces, feathers and old nesting materials.
