The "new" manager, Russ, is a jerk. He refuses to listen when you try to talk to him, about ANYTHING. He talks AT you, not to you. I miss Clara. Helen is tragically clueless. She makes promises she cannot keep. We were promised new carpet in the hallways, yet several buildings were "skipped over". Yes, there were bedbugs & wasps. When they wanted to spray for bedbugs, they gave you less than 24 hours to completely empty out all rooms in your apartment with nowhere to put your belongings and cited you if you didn't have time to put your pets in a kennel. The wasps, management totally ignored. Thank God no roaches came into view in my apt, but I heard that my neighbors had them. The last straw, though, was when my lease came up a couple months ago. I called Russ to find out what I could expect for price of my new rent. He promised me that it would go up by $30, "max". I should have gotten that in writing. Instead, he decided he would screw me over and make it more than a $70 increase. He claimed it was to cover the cost of fixing the enormous potholes in the parking lot. If they had fixed the potholes periodically over the last couple of years, maybe they wouldn't be in such dire shape. There was dog poop EVERYWHERE (even though they claim they don't allow dogs anyway). Plowing in the winter was a joke. One poorly plowed path was made, but it didn't go to the apartments in the back of the complex; none of the side alleys were plowed and no spaces were ever cleared out. Noise complaints were treated with "there's nothing I can do". Complaints of obvious domestic violence were treated with "I don't want to get involved". The dumpsters were always full to overflowing. The place was a dump. The only reason I stayed was because I couldn't afford to move. Long story short, I did NOT renew my lease. The laundry room is a joke. 1 crappy washer and dryer to share among 12 apartments. I moved 2 months ago & I am certain I made the right choice.

Your assessment of the "new" mis-manager, Russ, is on target but Helen is NOT tragically clueless. Helen is morally bankrupt and pathologically dishonest. Comments about bedbugs, wasps, and roaches are on target! Comments about dog poop are also on target! I complained about it to Russ and nothing was ever done. I did not experience as dramatic an increase in rent as you did, but even so, I found the rents at Wentworth to be no bargain and no longer competitive. Yes, Wentworth Apartments is a dump! Much nicer apartments are available in the area for comparable rents. Like you, I moved out and I am also certain that I made the right choice. I would avoid any other apartment that is managed by Maxx Properties and urge others to do the same.
