In November of 2004 I moved into the Windridge Apts. and I thought it was glorious!
I had just come from NC. I was living in an extended stay motel. And what worried me more is that my two kids and I were really sort of homeless. Although I still had a pretty good income at the time, children's needs can change that very quickly. Over the years I've seen the management change, but nothing as dreadful as it is now. We transferred to a larger apartment in May, and I was told by one of the leasing consultants that I wouldn't even be able to view the new apartment until a few weeks before we moved in. That turned out to be a lie! We actually didn't get to see it until 3 days before. I had no choice but to accept it or face homelessness again. Very good manipulation of clients, don't you think' Although we were very cautious about conserving resources and money, I found that my water bill kept going up. I suspected foul play by this management team, because they have a reputation among the tenants for being cold and kind of unfeeling. I was told by another tenant to look into the situation, because people were skipping out on their rent, leaving in the middle of the night, and maybe in this recession, they weren't so willing to absorb the cost themselves,(if you know what I mean). I also found out that although my water bill is divided equally, our family which consists of an adult and two children, pay the same as 3 grownups in another apartment of equal size, whether they conserve, are wasteful or whatever. Of course, with unemployment being at a 27 year high, those grownups may be unemployed altogether, or at the very least, at home more, thereby using more water. How is that fair' Please call Winridge or the Apartment Association and ask!!!
