Nice Units Terrible Association

I was an owner occupant of a two bedroom at this unit for many years. The units themselves can be nice on the inside but the Management of the association is a nightmare.
The tennis courts have been broken and cracked for well over ten years.
The weight room and lockers are dingy, dank and moldy.
The person who claimed the pool is known around Boulder as The Riviera is either really stoned or a Real Estate Agent trying to paint a good picture. It's an okay pool but not excellent and not known in the complex as the Riviera let alone around Boulder.
The real problem though is the management. Association fees are $200 a month (they go up every year) and you don't get anything for it. The carpet in my buildings high use areas was not changed in the 12 plus years I lived there. I think the hallways were painted once. It really doesn't matter how much work an owner puts into showing a place if the common areas are dingy the unit doesn't show well.
Colorado Management, the company hired to manage the complex is a nightmare to work with. Phone calls are not returned and answers are not provided.
At the end of their contract a few years back I asked the Association President why we didn't bid out the job to many companies to see what market was. She told me that some years before (15-20) The association had tried to run the complex and hired a manager who embezzled the fees. Since that time they gave the no-bid contract to Colorado Management. I have never worked at a company that didn't occasionally compare vendors.
Like I said in my Summary: the units can be very nice, it is in a good location close to RTD and shopping but the Management and the Association are terrible.

this person is not telling the truth. The tennis courts were just reserfaced, carpeting gets replaced as soon as possible according to budgeting needs, the management company is one of the most experienced in the metro-denver area and they manage the neighboring condos which is good for continuity. The grounds are maintained beautifully and the board is dedicated to keeping arborwood appealing and updated. Lighting will be added around the circle, a new shed for the maintainance guys, who are cheerful and helpful, and other grounds changes. There are also garden plots available for those with green thumbs

Actually, nice units terrible associate is charitable. The management company has never once returned a phone call, let alone actually answer the phone. Never. Its beyond absurd. The rules are endless, and never enforced. The reviewer was telling the truth when they wrote, a year before arborgood's response. All that has changed is the tennis courts have been resurfaced, and the parking lots repaired. The chemical maintenance of the pool is frightening, the halls smell, the common doors are always ajar, broken, open. The indoor/outdoor carpet on entries is frayed and tattered. See citysearch reviews as well.
