You Can Do Better

When I first moved into Bear Creek, I thought it was beautiful and quiet. WRONG. That is because I moved in week before the majority of the rest of the inhabitants. Once the place filled up and Williams Village opened up, it was terrible. The walls and windows are thin so you can hear people yelling and screaming all night long. Every Friday night at 2:00am without fail I could hear the next door neighbor's headboard banging against the wall, it was awful. They advertise themselves as an apartment community but it is more like a dorm without food. They have "Community Assistants" but they are more like RA's. They are not all that friendly or nice and strangley, they are all gorgeous people..hmmm. The rent is hands down outrageous and now they only let you sign 1-year leases as opposed to semester leases. The bus is a nightmare because it is always crowded with freshmen and other Williams Village occupants. Sometimes I have to let 3 or 4 Buff Buses go by until I can squeeze onto one, it is so irritating. You can't help but feel like you are still in the dorms because of the Buff Bus and Community Assistants. Also, the "business center" has 4 computers, only 2 of which are normally working. 2 computers for hundreds of kids to share' Ha. Oh yeah and the printer is out of ink or paper 9 times out of ten so don't count on having access to free printing like they advertise. The rooms are TINY with VERY little floor space. You cannot bring any furniture from home to add because there would be no room- not even a beanbag in your room. The furniture they do have is cheap and the beds don't even have real mattresses (they are foam covered in some slippery water-resistant material that feels like the material trampolines are made of). Don't even get me started on parking. $45 a MONTH if you want to park in a reserved spot (these spots take up the entire front lot of the building so if you want cheaper parking as in $35/month, you will have to park far away from the front door). Any visitor you have can stay no longer than 2 hours because the CU Parking Services patrol the lot constatnly. My PARENTS came to visit and got several tickets. US 36 runs right by and it can be noisy. The front office seems nice enough but you can't help but feel that you are always bothering them. They seem annoyed by little requests here and there. Sometimes they are outright rude. I would not live here if I were you because you could so much, much, much better for the amount of money you will spend here. It is a huge, million-dollar company (American Campus Communities) just trying to screw over us college kids once again.
