Bear Creek Apartments are superficially appealing, but move in and you will understand that looks are only skin deep. My biggest complain about these aparments was the false representation. When you walk into the office you see large billbooards of happy college students living in the large well-furnished, apartments. If only reality lived up to the ideal. The apatments are small with little cabinet space in the kitchens (not nearly enough for four people to an apartment), small rooms engulfed with a bunch of cheap and flimsy furniture, and appliances that are unreliable and faulty. These faults are unforgivable, especially when taking into account the exorbatant prices. Compound that with management that is unresponsive and rude, and you get a very bad deal. The best thing about these apartments, at this point, is the prospect of moving out. I cannot blame the apartments for the unruly behaviour of the occupants, but the way the management at Bear Creek deals with problems is poor at best. For instance, towards the beginning of the year, someone stole the vacuum (yes, only one vacuum for 500-some students). It took several months for bear creek to get a replacement. The elevators are often not working, nothing broken ever gets replaced and the management seems more interested in snooping then fixing. An example of this is the fact that when they built these apartments they recycled the same five locks among the entire building. That meant my key opened several other apartments and bedroom doors. When their little cheat was discovered they did switch locks (though who can tell if they were actually changed since they demanded their keys back to be replaced as well) but they did it right during school without advance warning. They also do periodic "checks" of the fire detectos (though they still don't work properly) again without any advance warning. I could go on and on about their cheap swinding ways, but instead I will wrap it up and emplore you not to waste your money on these overpriced and negligent apartments. P.S. Parking is awful. If you move here and have a car, or have any friends with cars you are out of luck.
