When I was looking at apartments I found this board pretty weird; some people call it hell, for others its heaven. Here's my take on living at Bear Creek.

1. This place is expensive! Everything in Boulder is expensive, but you can find a better deal than Bear Creek. I didn't have anyone to room with, so that's where BC helped me a little bit.

2. If you know how to read a lease, you'll be fine. Maintanence can enter your room, if you pay late, you'll get a late charge, etc. If you don't like it, then don't live here. I checked out a few leases when I was shopping for apartments, and this looks pretty standard.

3. Noisy. Mostly on weekends, it drives one of my roommates nuts, doesn't bother me much. Personal preference.

4. Managemennt/staff. I heard that the old management was awful, but haven't heard much about the new people. The staff's pretty cool. They don't seem to be uber dedicated to their jobs, but I have a crappy-paying college job too, so I know how it goes. On an embarrising note, when my toilet was clogged, one of the CAs plunged if for me, so I can't complain.

5. I don't have car, but I've heard bad things about parking.

6. Maintenence is great.

7. Internet/cable. I'm not a big computer or TV person, so all I can say is that it's good enough for me.

8. Neighbors. I have some really good friends here, but there are also some complete psychos walking around. I don't think this is the easiest place to make friends; that's what the dorms are for. Upper classmen note: mainly sophmores here.

All in all, you could do a lot worse. If you can afford better, go for it. If you sign a lease, read it first and don't complain about things you agreed too.
