The biggest problem I had with this place is the people living here. The walls are thin and the windows don't help keep sound out so every time a group of people decides to stand outside and chat, I can hear just about everything. It is just unintelligible because I'm on the fifth floor but as for people who stand in the hallway or people in my room, I hear every word they say. I honestly almost went berserk and wanted nothing more than to bludgeon the people yammering away outside of my door.
I moved out of the shared apartments because I was sick of roommates bringing their friends over late at night during the week and going to town on a bottle of Captain Morgan's and everyone would try to talk over each other until I came out and threatened them. Then they would say "sorry", more often then not sarcastically, and then resume being drunken idiots. Somehow I managed to not seriously injure or kill anybody although had it been in my rights to pummel them into meat slop for continued disturbance, I would have done so.
I then got a single bedroom apartment. I thought that getting a one bedroom, one bath would be great even though it was somewhat expensive, but for the space and still having to deal with drunken idiots running and screaming through the hallway or in the parking lot, it was just not worth it. So I tried to cancel my 12 month lease and move out in May. They wouldn't let me do that. I tried to convince them that I didn't want to spend so much money, so they put me in a double occupancy. That was fine. It was cheaper and I got lucky not having someone sharing the room with me. I still have to deal with noise just because that is the kind of environment this place is. I would not recommend this place to anyone who is intent on finishing their work and going to sleep early to avoid sleep deprivation because those party animals will keep you updated on how much fun they are having by screaming and shouting and you will be part of their night of stupidity whether you like it or not. If however you are one of those people, come to Bear Creek and help keep your community like the Zoo it has become. You'll feel at home being around people as noisy and inconsiderate as you are.

HA HA! I am still living in BC too and I completely agree with you although I don't find it at bad as you do.
