Bear Creek is not terrible, but not awesome either. It feels like the dorms due to all the immature students living there. The walls are very thin, so if you have loud neighbors you'd better hope they're nice enough to turn music down when you ask them. I could constantly hear the music of my downstairs neighbor, and neighbors down the hall. Luckily they were nice, and would turn it down if I asked.

The furniture is extremely cheap, but useable. I'd recommend cleaning your couch and comfy chairs before using them. It's likely they've been spilled on or have dirt all over. Work orders seemed to take a long time to fix, sometimes they never came at all. You have to be persistent and keep putting in the same order if you have to.

The counters and bathroom vanities are starting to fall apart. The stools in the kitchen/dining area are at a height that ensures you can't sit at the counter without bumping your knees constantly. I had bruises on my legs while I lived there.

The mail is slow, but legally they can't put it in your mailbox later than 24 hours after they received it. I have a feeling the slow mail is more due to the fact that the mailing addresses are really strange (for example an 80310 zip code does not actually exist in Boulder).

A lot of your living experience here will depend on your attitude. If you are rude to the staff, that does not really motivate them to help you. I was always courteous to the staff, and they were always willing to help me. Yes, all of the staff minus one person are students, but I found that they were well trained and knew what they were doing. Keep in mind that they are doing this for the free rent, it's not like this is their dream job.

While I lived there, the fire alarm went off at least five times causing evacuation of the building. Four times, it was in the middle of the night. That alone made me want to move out. Most of the bad things about this place is because of the stupid people who live there, who put holes in the walls, have loud parties, and pull the fire alarm/burn something. If people were more respectful, it wouldn't be as bad.

I also didn't like the fact that you use your buff card to get in, there are no real keys. And the price now is way too expensive for the extremely cheap quality of the units. You can find much better for way cheaper. Parking is not included, but should be. I don't know of any other apartments that don't offer a parking spot with your lease. Parking is an extra $35-45 per month, depending on how close your spot is. Way too expensive.

Overall I wouldn't recommend it, but at least it is close to campus, has the buff bus, and offers nine month leases and furnished units, good for if you are an international or out of state student.
