Nice but expensive. Don't live on the first floor.

When we first looked at Boulder Creek we loved it. The complex is sprawling, with several buildings interspersed by well-groomed lawns and walk-paths. The buildings and units look new and clean.
At first, they showed us this great, huge one bedroom unit on the top floor with a balcony (right next to a nice, shady tree) which we fell in love with. That day we told them we wanted the apartment. Then they called us and told us the apartment was already promised to someone else, but they had one just like it for us.
What we got was a first floor unit, right next to a noisy pool, with no balcony and a completely different layout than the one we wanted. Then they insisted on charging me the exact same rent for the far inferior apartment. When I complained, they said "Most people beg us to live here," like I had no right to be upset.
The lower floor units are very loud especially if next to the stairs. People seem to like to run up and down them at full speed.
All in all quite expensive for the noise and the quality of our particular unit. The aminities and the complex itself are very nice, but a year after signing the lease I'm still angry they sold me on a nicer apartment and gave me a crappy one.
