Boulders

 

As a graduate student, I've lived in many apartments throughout Boulder over the last four years.

I thoroughly regret ever leasing at the Boulders.

The Boulders has been by far my least favorite apartment ever.

The new management is very condescending, rude and seemingly slightly incompetent.

I've had my rent lost twice.

This resulted in threats from the management to take legal action against me for "not paying my rent", although they'd simply forgot they cashed my check.

That was very annoying to deal with, although we did eventually get it cleared up on both occasions.
The walls are unusually thin, even for apartments, so you might have to deal with noise or neighbors who complain about your noise level even if you weren't really being all that loud.

I also really don't like the part of Boulder the apartments are in.

Although there are several bus lines within walking distance, the routes aren't very convenient and the buses don't come often enough if you need to get into central Boulder or to CU within any decent time frame.

It's definitely kind of a pain to get anywhere if you take the bus.

In my opinion, the rent is too high for the area.

Depending on the property, you could be paying just as much if you rented in central Boulder, and you wouldn't be out in boring, lackluster North Boulder.
On the bright side, there is a 24 hour fitness within walking distance and the air conditioning works really well.
