Just a warning, to anyone considering placing a deposit on an apartment at Canterwood please take our experience into consideration. We put a deposit on a 1-bedroom at Canterwood upon moving to Boulder. We were told since we did not have jobs yet just to put down what we would be making once we had and that would be fine. We were also told a security check would be done for a fee before we could move in and would take 5-7 days. A few days later we recieved a phone call telling us they made a mistake and we would either have to wait to move in until we both found jobs or prove we could pay a 6-month lease right away from our bank accounts. We proved this from our bank accounts but than were lied to again by telling us we still couldn't move in until we found jobs. On top of this, our security check went 14 days with no response from Canterwood. They finally told us that they were having trouble with the check and it was out of their hands. We couldn't wait any longer and signed with a private owner in a great Condo in North Boulder. It has been 3 weeks, since this began, we have not heard from Canterwood even know they promised to tell us that despite pulling our deposit, we would still get a call from them letting us know the results from the security check. Well low and behold our check has been cashed from this with no response or no results. To sum it all up, Canterwood probably never performed a security check, and because they thought we were CU students, which we are two working professionals in healthcare, they thought they could get away with it. Well I am preparing to take action upon filing a report on the management and would suggest to anyone else considering Canterwood to find alternatives and prepare themselves to be told many things only for Canterwood to contradict and decieve.
