is there insulation' at all' i highly doubt it... the heating bills are pretty bad... and if you have a closet on an outside wall, expect it to be FREEZING in there-- they even require you to open your closet doors if there is a freeze warning-- seriously, open our closet doors' that's just going to make it FREEZING in my room! i put a thermometer in the closet and it read at 52 degrees. this is RIDICULOUS. getting up in the morning to cold clothing is the last thing i want.
TO THE PARENTS UPSTAIRS FROM ME: CAN YOU POSSIBLY PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR INFANT WHEN HE CRIES FOR 5 HOURS ON END!!! it's probably just hungry-- or wants a little attention. letting it cry for 5 hours starting from 7am-12pm is not acceptable. i can deal with listening to your every step, your tv, your horrible music, hey-- even 30 minutes of crying-- it's a baby, of course it will cry-- but not for 5 hours. and your other kid-- STOP LETTING HIM RUN AROUND THE ENTIRE APARTMENT AND JUMP UP AND DOWN FOR LITERALLY 45 MINUTES!
you live in an apartment community-- it is OBVIOUS that you shouldn't let your child stomp up and down and run around the whole apartment. every week there are always a few days where it's nice out-- nice enough to let him run around outside... or are you too lazy' i can't even move to another room to get away from the noise. i've left notes on your door, and i think it's ACTUALLY GOTTEN WORSE. am i going to have to start banging back'
i'm the 21 year old college student... and i'm complaining about noise' yeah. when i am home, i listen to music at a very reasonable level and i watch tv at an even more reasonable level. i never smoke at home for fear of your children being affected by my negative actions and i have never had a party here. the people who live below me recently asked me if i was babysitting or if i had a friend with a child over. she was going to give me some tips on how to deal with crying children-- i pointed her to you, and i hope that you listen to her. a girl in the NEXT BUILDING OVER heard your child crying and looked out at me as i was walking down the stairs. she opened the window an said, "i am SOOO SORRY-- i hear it every morning too, but i'm sure it's not as bad as you!"
you live in a 900 square foot apartment, you have 2 children' are you nuts' and i know it's not a price issue, you and your wife just bought matching new hybrids! this place is HELLA expensive-- you moved here in august (when the prices are highest)-- you probably pay 400 more than i do a month (as that was what my consignment was for... and the new leasing company doesn't do that). you can EASILY get a 3 bedroom house in east boulder for what you're paying!
SO YEAH, it's an AWESOME place besides the lack of insulation and any ramifications of that... my experience with the noise is the norm-- who your neighbors are will invariably change...
AWESOME PARTS OF THE COMMUNITY:
the pool/hot tub have been great in the summer (i haven't been in winter, and don't really plan on it, so i can't make an assertion on it), the fitness center is always clean and i've never had a problem with the equipment... i've never been in the sauna-- i'm waaaay too claustrophobic. the leasing office people are AWESOME-- they know me by name and hug me whenever i come in. i've always been nothing but nice to them, and they've always been nothing but nice to me... even the maintenance guys know my name, despite the fact that only one of them has ever had to come to my apartment-- and it was for something we did wrong, not the apartment falling apart. the place is very nice looking (i like the new paint job), and i LOVE the walkways/courtyard. i like the location (no, it's not downtown boulder, but this is GREAT for east boulder, especially with the new 29th street mall. i've never had trouble parking and i've never thought the spaces were too skinny- i have a small SUV and it's always easy to open the doors almost completely when i need to get in/out of the car. the cars next to me can also open their doors wide enough. the ONLY problem with parking is when my boyfriend works an overnight and he gets home at 5:45am.
so, if you do decide to move here-- brave the 3 floor walk up so that you don't have to deal with the noise. other than the insulation problem, i LOVE LOVE LOVE it here-- and would recommend it to those who would be ok with living on the 3rd floor.
yeah, sorry for my rant everyone. haha.
